REVIEW:
This was a super sweet, starting over after divorce story. I kind of have a love hate relationship with novellas. I love them because it’s almost like instant gratification. I can read them super-fast and get all the goodness super quick. I dislike them sometimes because they end too quick which leaves me wanting more. That’s what happened here. I really enjoyed this author’s writing. She gave us enough character development and plot to really keep me engaged throughout. Then it ended…with a pretty sweet HFN, but I won’t lie…I wanted more….
Jake is starting over after divorcing his husband of 15 years. He decides to buy a rundown house and put all his energy towards renovating it. He’s not prepared for the visceral attraction he feels towards his new landscaper, Dakota.
Its obvious Dakota is also attracted to Jake but as they get to know each other he feels Jake may not be in a place emotionally to start something new.
The more they’re around each other, however they find they can’t deny their attraction and embark on dating. This was a slow burn but when it got going it was incredibly hot. These two burned up the pages when they got together. This was a super sweet and believable romance. I loved how this author built it up. Incredibly romantic.
Overall, truly enjoyed this novella. I would have loved more but I was satisfied with what I read. Definitely recommend.
