REVIEW:
What a nice surprise. I’ve been missing this series, and this short was a wonderful revisit to the pirate world of John, Tom and Captain Baltsaros. The story begins at a point when John has distanced himself from Tom and the captain. Though it isn’t clear at first what happened to cause his withdrawal, it becomes clear that John had been assaulted. Tom does his best to bring John around and the winter holiday is the best time of year for showing one another how much they care.
This story was touching and sweet, but also erotic with some dark undertones. When I learned what was bothering John, I imagined I’d missed something, but I’m sure now that the event had to have happened in the interval between books. Since I am still starving for details about the event, I’m wondering if this is some kind of prelude or peek into what will follow in book #4. Overall, this book was an awesome extension to the Baal’s Heart Series. I love seeing these three together so much that I would be happy if the series continued on indefinitely like a soap opera. I recommend this book to anyone who read and loved Bey Deckard’s Baal’s Heart Series.
