REVIEW:
This is one of the best lesbian romances I’ve read in a long time, and it goes to show you don’t need to write a 400 page novel to be able to create characters that jump off the page!
The author has created an interwoven plot, seemingly effortlessly, however I doubt that was the case. I know little about Amish people but had no problem following the story line. Annabell’s plight was equally heartbreaking and delightful to read. Her character was refreshing. While she was determined to go after what she wanted, her naivety was refreshing and made me smile. Nicole couldn’t have been a better match for her. She didn’t handle Annabell with kid gloves, but she was sensitive to her upbringing at the same time.
The chemistry between them was palpable! When Annabell had to return to her family, her intended husband, my heart broke for both women, and for different reasons. What Annabell went through upon her return, no woman should ever go through. Josef was nothing short of a bully who had me champing at the bit wanting to reach into my kindle and punch him in the nuts! Thankfully that wasn’t necessary.
To say more would ruin the ending, so I will suffice to say once again, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters were fully developed, the plot engaging, and the sex scenes smoking hot! That’s a hat trick!!
On finishing the story I immediately went seeking more books by Josie Jax, only to discover this is a pseudonym for a USA bestselling author… one I’m going to put my detective hat on and sniff out.
