REVIEW:
One of the lines used in this book was “You should never meet your heroes.” I found that quote very amusing and very true. I really liked this story. I am a diehard superhero fan, I’m a sucker for a short love story, and I love Christmas. With a combination like that you cannot go wrong. This wonderful story reads like a comic book without the pictures except the author tells that in a way that you can easily visualize the pictures in your mind without a problem.
Jake X-Ray is Matt’s mentor. At his side Matt get nervous, starts sweating, becomes klutzy, stammers stutters and makes mistakes like a teenage boy in eighth grade. It’s painful to watch, but easy to relate to because everyone has been there at some point or another. He has it bad for Jake and that is not good. He is the newest addition to the Superhero Team of course and Dr. Destructo is the evil arch villain reigning evil. Reading this book is like watching the Saturday morning cartoons again except this time around the hot guys in spandex get to kiss, the cute guy gets the hot super hero at the end, and good does triumph over evil. I dare not say more in ccase I spoil the story. This book is definitely worth your time and worth your money. I must confess I used to be a book snob thinking that if a book was too short I was being robbed of a good story but I was very wrong. If you miss out on this one you will miss out on something really special for Christmas.
