BLURB:
The Christmas Eve wedding Evan Cleary pulled together in four weeks is crashing down around him and taking his fledgling event planning business with it. With an empty altar and over a hundred guests arriving soon, he turns to the resistant, gorgeous brother of the runaway groom for help.
When Richard Patterson’s flamboyant brother storms out hours before he’s scheduled to marry his equally dramatic partner, Richard is left dealing with the fallout. The last thing he wants is more drama, yet he can’t deny his attraction to the effeminate event planner trying to salvage the wedding.
Evan thinks his crush on Richard is a lost cause, but one steaming kiss later, he learns different. What starts as a night of hot sex turns into a connection neither expected. But Evan knows their relationship is hopeless unless the ultra-conservative Richard can embrace every part of him—both in private and in public.
REVIEW:
This story has it all. Drama, a touch of angst, sexual tension and some steamy hot sex. It truly is a case of opposites attract, and boy do they attract.
Richard is as buttoned down as they come and he has no interest in becoming involved with someone like Evan. Or so he keeps telling himself. But he is incredibly drawn to Evan. He wants him badly. Evan is who he is and is not about to tame himself for anyone or anything. He wants Richard but is not prepared to risk his heart on someone who won’t take him just the way he is.
Richard is straightforward and determined. I liked how he tried to talk himself out of his attraction, but admitted to himself every time he lost a battle. He recognizes what Evan needs – to be loved and cared for. Evan has been knocked around by life and his need for connection shines through.
Watching Richard and Evan dance around each other in the first part of the story gives you hope that when they finally get together it is going to be combustible. And it does not disappoint. I think this book is going on my list of the best love scenes of the year.
