TITLE: A Stag for Two Bears
SERIES: Bear Mountain #6
AUTHOR: Kelex
PUBLISHER: Twisted E-Publishing, LLC
LENGTH: 118 Pages
BLURB:
Someone’s been killing off deer shifters just across Bear Mountain’s county line, where the neighboring Indian reservation and the river meet. Most in the den agree that it looks like one of their own is to blame. Bear shifter Magnus joins with the rez’s sheriff to help find the culprit.
Magnus could’ve had an easier time of it if one deer shifter didn’t drive him to distraction. He knows his mate the minute he lays eyes on the male. Finding the male is bittersweet. It brings up memories of the brother bear Magnus lost years before.
Like many of his herd, Tobias is weary of the bear shifters across the river. He, too, senses the draw toward Magnus, but he tries to ignore the feelings. Deer shifters aren’t known for their monogamy or mating for life and he doesn’t see a reason to change his whole life for the bear.
When Toby is attacked, Magnus saves his mate just in time—and just in time to see the predator causing all the chaos.
REVIEW:
I’m going to come right out and start this review by saying that this is my favorite book in the Bear Mountain series so far. Kelex has done a fantastic job with this installment. The character of Rowan tore at my heartstrings. I felt so bad for him. Dare I say I almost got teary eyed at one point?
Enough spoilers. A Stag for Two Bears continues the story we’ve been following along with during the first five books of the series, but now we shift focus slightly to also include the deer shifters on the neighboring Indian reservation. As we discovered in previous books, someone has been murdering deer shifters. It looks like a bear, smells like a bear, and isn’t an actual bear because the murder victims are torn apart but not eaten, so therefore it has to be a bear shifter. But who is the murderer?
Magnus is still helping the sheriff from the reservation try to track down the culprit. Only problem? Tobias. A hot little stag deer shifter. Bears don’t mate with deer…who are known to go more for orgies than monogamy. So why is Magnus so drawn to Tobias, and vice versa?
This installment moves quickly, tying up some loose ends, and ending with one loose end still not having been solved. I loved the book, as I have all of them in this series (with that one exception which we won’t talk about here!)
I recommend you pick up Kelex’s Bear Mountain series. I’d recommend reading them in order though. If you skip directly to this installment you won’t have the background on the whole cast of characters. If you do read them…I’m sure you’ll be sitting there waiting for the next installment as anxiously as I will be!
