From North Pole City to Winter Wonderland, preparations are underway after a royal announcement sweeps everyone into a frenzy of festivity. It’s up to Blitzen to help Cupid see the light in the darkness and show him that together they can mend broken hearts.
REVIEW:
We return to the land of snow… This time we get to follow two Rein Dears as they go on an adventure and fall in love.
Cupid has a secret, but then Blitzen really does as well. Cupid’s secret is a little more dark, and he can’t tell his best friend or he’ll lose him. Blitz’s secret is he has feelings for his best friend that he’s not sure he should have!
The two are drawn in the the drama between Jack Frost and Rudy the Rein Dear, as they plan their wedding. Rudy asks Blitz and Cupid to go on a quest for a wedding gift for Jack, which leads to some alone time for the two in a sweet little cabin, plus the introduction of some evil.
I liked this story, as I have liked the other books in this series. Charlie Cochet has created a very unique world, with great characters. The names are familiar, but the details are so creative. These are not your usual Christmas Elves! They fly planes, deliver packages, have lives of drama, and fall in love. Sometimes with each other!
This is a short story, like the others have been, and has a fair amount of plot and drama in it. It did feel a bit rushed to me, and I don’t think I got as good a sense of the two main characters as I would have liked. There is a lot going on with Jack and Rudy, which was fine and I liked seeing them again, but it didn’t leave a lot of time for Cupid and Blitzen. There is also some hints at who the main characters will be in the next book, I hope anyway! There isn’t much sex, just one scene, it was good but I do like to see a little more loving to get a good bond between the main characters.
So I liked this one, if you have read the others you probably will as well. This is not a stand-alone story, you do need to read the others in the series to know who is who, and what is going on. I do like the series and think they are worth reading if you are in to creative Christmas Elf stories. This is a cool world (no pun intended!) populated with fun characters. They are light on sex, but do have a good bit of romance.
