REVIEW:
Aiden Newell has been in love with Justin Pollasky for four years and for four years Justin has been treating him like a yo-yo and Aiden knows his heart can’t take another beating so for the last year he has gone out of way to avoid seeing, texting or talking to Justin! Everything was working out just fine until Aiden gets kidnapped by the human traffickers he’s been after and Justin takes it upon himself to be the one to rescue him.
Justin knows he’s hurt Aiden, not seeing, texting or talking to him for the last year has driven that home harder than he thought Aiden could be, it also hurts just as much if not more than Aiden wants. Justin’s not used to showing much emotion, hell he’s not used to feeling much emotion except where Aiden’s concerned, then he’s all emotion. He thought his heart would stop when he heard Aiden had been kidnapped but he knew he would find him. And find him he did not that Aiden was pleased to see him, he knew his team could have done it and he is overwhelmingly pissed off with Justin for butting in and taking over.
While Aiden is recovering from a head wound at Justin’s cabin he’s a virtual prisoner so he has to listen as Justin explains the reason behind his treatment of him for the last four years. When he learns that Justin has a bounty on his head courtesy of the human traffickers they are both working to shut down Aiden is beyond hurt to think that Justin didn’t trust him enough to tell him. And then he learns the reason Justin dropped off the face of the earth for six months the last time he left was because he’d been abducted whilst he was looking at his phone to ring Aiden and the he was tortured until his men found him? Aiden felt responsible and sick to his stomach. It takes a lot of loving, persistence and convincing on Justin’s part but he convinces Aiden to give them another chance. Aiden isn’t 100% convinced that Justin won’t leave him again but he wants to give them another go.
Persistent Love is the fifth instalment in the Lakehouse Security series and I must say that April Kelley just keeps outdoing herself with this engrossing series! I can’t wait to read more and yes I do recommend all of Aprils books to one and all!
