Whoever said you can’t go home again should change that to should not go home again. As in EVER!
Mason Foxworth swore on his grandmother’s bible never to return to the small Georgia town he sort of grew up in. And for eight years he’d succeeded in keeping that promise. Until his twin sister decided she needed to get married…back home…and she’d invited their parents. Wasn’t this going to be a just a fabulous weekend?
Since leaving the Marines, Kilby Adams rarely ever left his farm and now here he was in Georgia, as best man at his stepbrother’s wedding. Out of his comfort zone and with too many people that he doesn’t know Kilby has nothing to keep his mind off the past except the gorgeous brother of the bride.
And wouldn’t you just know it, there was only one room left at the Inn and Kilby would have to share it, with Mason, who was straight and….yeah, this was going to be one hell of a weekend.
REVIEW:
“….he still had grease on his face, and my heart in his hands….”
But what about my heart….damn….it’s still damn sore and beating so fast!!! Crap, this book was damn good.
You know the blurb sounded friggin fantastic and this story lived up to every single thing I wanted after reading the blurb. These two were so incredibly passionate and perfect for each other. This was an unbelievably emotionally moving story. I was expecting family drama but I wasn’t expecting this. I really loved going on this journey with these two men. I felt the attraction, the falling, the turmoil, and the healing they went through. I was with them every step of the way and I loved how the author sucked me in so completely.
Mason and Kilby are complete opposites. They brought together for a wedding neither of them wants to attend. They love their siblings but family entanglements they could live without. Stuck sharing the same room they find they can’t deny the attraction pushing them together.
Kilby and out ex-Marine is not interested in “straight” closet cases but he can’t say no to Mason. Mason has never wanted another man, has always identified with being straight so why does he want Kilby? The push/pull between these two never got old. The sex scene KILLED me. Sometimes sex scene get monotonous, this DOES NOT HAPPEN here. Every single time they get together it’s and friggin blow the top off your head hot.
I loved the pain and the angst was delicious!
Like I mentioned these characters have issues that have issues. There are so many layers here and every one of them just adds to the beauty of this story.
This book was friggin fantastic. One of the best books I’ve read in quite some time. Mercy Celeste is really hit or miss with me. She hit this one out of the friggin park. Highly recommend. All M/M readers would love this one.
