BLURB:
Anthony had been drawn in to a lot of wrong choices in his life. He had chosen the wrong lovers and allowed these men to take advantage of him until he got smart and kicked them out.
He was drawn into working for the wrong con artist in Florida. He transferred money until he got wise. Deciding it was time to leave before he got caught in the illicit traps that would catch his boss.
But it all caught up with him with the hard gray eyes of the leader of a Special Ops guy that wanted something that he could provide on his computers, but also wanted something more personal from him. Lust and desire was obvious in those gray eyes and Anthony was not sure if he was willing to be drawn in to what those gray eyes offered.
REVIEW:
I read the blurb for this book and was quite intrigued on where it might be headed. So, with a hopeful heart and an open mind I sat down to read this book.
Anthony is this young man who happens to be and expert at hacking into computers. Anthony moved to Florida to live with his folks and after their untimely deaths, he still lives in their home. Anthony really keeps to himself and just does his work. Anthony finds that the job that he took is really just a con and he wants NOTHING to do with it. Anthony just wants a job that doesn’t require to much work and allows him to go home and just do his thang on the computers, i.e. hacking. Anthony is finally hit in the face with the company’s horrible con job and he wants out. He’s just about to call it quits when his life changes in an instant.
Wes is this man who screams Mystery and Seductiveness. Wes worked in Special Ops in the service and now works in the family business of Security-ish type things. Wes is the kind of guy you’d meet and be kind of infatuated with. However, Wes is also someone who loyalty is a big deal for. As you can imagine, both by serving his country and doing the business that he’s in. Wes really takes on so much responsibility and has to juggle so many things. Wes wants Tony once he sees the kind of guy he is.
Tony has this thing about making his own choices for his life and he doesn’t react well once someone tries to take those choices from him. I like that Tony is head strong and stubborn and he is really this guy who does what he feels needs to be done in order to protect himself and he does a hell of a good job of staying off the radar. I was actually really impressed.
I will say that in this story the two MC’s spent more time apart than they did together and I’m not really sure how I feel about that. It added to the UST, but it also made it hard to see romance for them. I get that they were going to get together, but I wasn’t really sure how this would all come about.
I felt that the way in which Tony disappeared and some of his actions were more pointed to a petulant child and not a grown up. If you have a thought or a belief, I think that you can talk about it in a grown up fashion instead of whining and not really being an adult about what your belief is.
The editing of this book could have been better and just the jumpiness of the story kept throwing me out of what was happening. That and Tony’s behavior as well as some of the stuff Wes pulled just about drove me to throw my beloved Kindle out the door, but I persevered and saved my beloved Kindle.
