They’re a match made in the dungeon…until their secret gets out.
Bored senseless in a meeting, architectural modeler Jon McNeill amuses himself with a kinky dating app on his phone. Then the app matches him with another user…who’s six feet away. Suddenly Jon finds himself on the same page as someone way above his pay grade: millionaire property developer Rick Pierce. His firm’s biggest—and hottest—client.
The app isn’t kidding either. They’re a perfect match. Jon’s a Dom, Rick’s a sub, and bondage is their thing. Both guys are well into their forties, know their way around the bedroom, and definitely appreciate a good suit. And the best part? They’re a match outside the bedroom too.
But office relationships aren’t easy to keep a secret. When the truth comes out, Jon is certain he’s about to get fired. Instead, his bosses throw him a curve ball—an ultimatum that puts both his job and his relationship in jeopardy.
Warning: Contains literal and figurative sex machines, blindfolds, a sub being punished during a business meeting, enough rope to tangle up a millionaire, and a Golden Girls marathon.
REVIEW:
I’ve always been a fan of D/s situations where it’s not obvious who’s the Dom and who’s the sub. Anything involving a complete role reversal between personal and professional lives, I totally dig. This story was just exactly that.
Jon builds models for an architecture firm. He finds himself in an interesting situation with his firm’s current big client, Rick Pearce. Rick owns a huge company and dominates and controls every aspect of his professional life but in his personal life Rick is an unapologetic submissive. He’s been eyeballing and secretly lusting after Jon for a while and when they do start a relationship the heat between them smolders.
Jon is a Dom, divorced, supports his ex-wife and pays his children’s college tuition so he has a lot on his plate but Jon was a bit confusing to get a read on but I appreciated how steadfast he was with his responsibilities. He lets himself be manipulated and blackmailed which was frustrating but I understood what his fears and concerns were.
I really enjoyed the mild BDSM aspect but I would have liked to have more playtime between the two of them. These two were incredibly passionate and the chemistry was explosive so it felt like anytime they would start a scene their libido would take control then they’d just end up at the finish line. At times it seemed the scene was over before it even started. But I want to reiterate. These two were explosive together, so totally hot I would have just liked more play time between them.
There was a solid plot, great colorful characters and good writing that kept me in the story for the most part. I’m kind of a sucker for this author. I gravitate to her books often.
Overall, this was pretty good. It dragged a bit, I’d have loved more BDSM elements, but I really liked the characters. M/M fans and BDSM lovers would enjoy this book.
