David Winters fell for a man at a Christmas masquerade party last year. The only problem? His sister and his niece needed him so instead of pursuing anything, David ran away and didn’t find out who he was. Now, his niece, Jenna wants to organize a toy charity drive at a children’s hospital which leads David to reunite with Officer Stephen Lauer. The sparks fly again and with a little Christmas kindness maybe the two of them can make a few wishes come true…including their own.
REVIEW:
I can not tell you how thankful I am that I was able to review this wonderful Christmas novella! If you want a way to put you in the “Spirit of the Holidays” and restore your faith in mankind, this is the story to do that!
I just loved the story of David and Stephen. The second chance meeting that drew two men back together. And I absolutely was thrilled with the story within the story of David’s niece Jenna wanting to make Christmas special for the children that were stuck in the hospital over Christmas. Her giving heart to honor her best friend was so sweet and well written. No one wants to be stuck in a hospital for Christmas but to see our sick and dying children having their day brightened by this act of kindness was so humbling.
I don’t know what the circumstances must have been for Ms. Lee, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she had experienced being around a children’s ward during the holidays, to get it so spot on. This is my first chance at reading her work and I am hopeful it won’t be the last. I truly enjoyed how she wove this story and drew me in to the activities and events that transpired.
This novella was such a delight and I was warmed by the story, the characters, and the acts of kindness that it hopefully inspires. I was touched and couldn’t possibly give it anything less than 5 bright, shining stars!!!
Thank you Ms. Lee for your touching and sweet reminder of the wonderful things to remember about how kind and giving people can be.
