REVIEW:
I haven’t read a lot of paranormal stories as at times I have difficulty immersing myself in the world the author has created. That was far from the case with this story. Right from the get-go I was pulled into the heart of it. I loved the descriptive writing. The world building, magic, blood lust, witches, and demons were portrayed in vivid detail so I had no problem following along.
With the body count rising, trying to figure out who the killer was kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. When it came to light who the bad guy was, I found myself equally appalled and enthralled.
I often wonder how authors decide on a title, so I was further fascinated reading about the ‘sigil’.
Sonia and Fae were both great characters. The fact Fae was a tattoo artist was a bonus for me being a lover of tattoo’s. There were a number of side characters, some I enjoyed, others faded to black. While this is a lesbian romance, at times the women have to seek out men to quench their blood lust, however there’s nothing overtly sexual on page. More a means to an ends.
Speaking of sex, having read a few other books by this author I expected there to be more heat in this story, but sexual tension simmers right up until near the very end when, finally, sparks fly. Making the wait almost worthwhile.
If you are a fan of paranormal romance you’re sure to enjoy this story. I was excited to see there is a sequel, which I intend to dive head first into next.
Contains – witches, demons, succubus, death and mayhem, and female female loving.
