Byron is tall, handsome, well spoken, wealthy, and has outstanding taste in wine and food. You’ll be impressed by his impeccable attire and eloquence in conversation, ranging from Baroque art to the newest advances in pharmacology. With his charming smile and elegant manners, Byron truly is the perfect date… and who doesn’t love a man who appreciates opera?
What’s the catch, you ask?
Just this: if Byron finds you suitable, he will subject you to utterly depraved forms of torture.
No, I’m not talking about S&M.
Byron will mutilate, rape, and then kill you. Don’t think that you will survive the encounter, because you won’t. He has a perfect record.
Intrigued? Would you like me to arrange a rendezvous? It has to be in the next few days because he’s leaving on a trip south to much warmer climes, and his calendar will be completely full.
Yes? Very good. I will make a reservation for two under the name of Smith.
Who am I? I’m Gloria, his personal assistant.
REVIEW:
Oh my god, this book was crazy. I think this tops the list for being the most depraved thing I’ve ever read. The story begins when the serial killer, Byron, is finishing off two of his victims. Later that night he has a date with a man named Michael. Byron had planned on killing the handsome young man, but there is something about Michael that makes Byron want to spare him. As the night progresses, Byron finds himself in the clutches of either insanity or the devil himself. Byron is forced to face his crimes by reliving them in the place of his victims.
This book was amazing, not only for its shock value, which was significant, but also because the reader enters the mind of a no-holds-barred sadist who might be more evil than the devil himself. I’d like to start off by saying that readers should take the warning on this book seriously. It definitely is not for the faint of heart. Byron is a psychopath who drugs his victims, fucks with their minds, then mutilates and rapes them to death. There’s absolutely no sugar coating in that description.
With that said, the book was both horrific and thrilling. I’ve loved every one of Bey Deckard’s books, and this one is no exception. I think he does an awesome job of creating the perfect psychopath. Byron never feels anything for his victims other than lust and sometimes sadness that they didn’t last longer. The story brought the killer to life in my imagination; not so much to fear him, but to feel the twisted lust he experiences when he toys with his victims. I also felt Byron’s sense of disorientation when he thought he was having a break with reality. I think what made this book unique and daring is that the sexual aspect of Byron’s kills is graphically portrayed.
Throughout the story there was a question of whether Byron could be rehabilitated. At one point it seemed like there was a romance brewing, but the ending was something much better. I recommend this book to anyone who loves dark m/m erotica, serial killers, and horror.
