A police K9 handler believes he’s lucky when a romance starts with the local veterinarian, but then his canine partner is injured in the line of duty.
Sergeant Ray Lerner is a veteran sheriff’s department K9 handler. Damien Federov is the veterinarian caring for Harley ,Ray’s canine partner. When taking a man as a lover, Ray’s always been confident. Around Damien, Ray becomes uncharacteristically shy and tongue-tied. When Damien begins their romance, Ray knows he’s lucky.
His obsession with a past tragedy blinds Ray to everything he has with Damien. When Harley is injured on duty, his life is in Damien’s hands. As Ray sits vigil, he has one final chance to allow Damien in all the way, or risk losing everything important, in a single night.
REVIEW:
Ahhhhhh…I’m getting all squishy, squealy and crazy which is no shocker when it comes to me and this author. I was hesitant because I didn’t see my usual elements but…DANG…I WAS NOT MAD AT HER!!!! This book was great…great!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT!!!!!! I enjoyed it from beginning to end and that is no joke. Kendall McKenna doesn’t play….you want military, deployment, Marine, action, San Diego, etc. this is where you need to look. Damn, she does not skip corners she puts in all and every detail K9, Marine, police activity, military deployment, etc. You feel like you are in it and that is the magnificence of her writing. It’s so real. And this story is no different.
The biggest obstacle is Ray. He’s an ex-Marine currently a K-9 Sergeant in the police force. His responsible for his dog and that’s how he likes it. Unfortunately he’s found himself undeniably attracted to his dogs vet, Damien Federov. Damien and Ray have both been given off signals but they have been getting cross at every angle.
Just when they think they’re both on the same page things go wonky. Not completely off kilter but enough to know a talk needs to happen.
This is not one of those bang your head angst the wall type of stories. The angst that derives is so understandable but doesn’t take away from how enjoyable the story is.
P.S. Harley.
P.S.S. Harley
