Controlled Asher didn’t expect to fall for free-spirited Daniel, but they’ll find what they desperately need in one another.
Police captain Asher Penaz’s staunch professionalism bleeds into his home life, down to his neatly pressed attire and spartan apartment. He enjoys being in charge and in control, so his sudden and powerful attraction to the lighthearted, free-spirited Daniel Tover throws him for a loop. In his entire life, Daniel has never gotten what he needs, so he moves to the next place, the next job, the next attempt to find something worth staying for, always landing at the top of his game, but never feeling like he belongs.
The chemistry between Asher and Daniel sizzles, but with all that fire comes the risk of getting burned. As both men struggle to learn themselves while getting to know each other, the lines of desire and control blur. If Daniel and Asher can walk through the flames together, they might find what they desperately need.
REVIEW:
There is something that calls to my inner submissive self when I’m introduced to these strong alpha men. I just absolutely melt when I come across these awesome characters. But the same is true for the submissive, quiet, intriguing characters like Daniel who also just reel me in. These two were so incredibly perfect for each other. Even though there were some extreme behaviors here and there overall I really enjoyed this story and the love these characters built together.
Asher Penaz is a San Francisco police captain who is very much non-vanilla in every way. Needing to dominate and control he knows his type and knows where to find it. He’s having no luck at his straight best friend’s bachelor party surrounded by very naked women. Frustrated he goes out and stumbles on the unexpected.
Daniel Tover is a massive amount of contradictions and completely turns Asher’s life upside down. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and the connection is soul deep almost from the beginning of the book. There’s a bit of a mystery behind Daniel that I didn’t see coming at all. He’s one of those all encompassing soulful characters that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the book. I really loved him.
Alpha is the ultimate alpha male, almost extreme. He’s insanely possessive and jealous but not psychotic just really intense and I can see how his reactions could be off-putting but I rather liked him.
What really stood out for me was the connection these two had. I loved feeling that while reading this story. It was so caring and incredibly hot. What can I say? I’ve always been a huge fan of Cardeno C’s and will continue to be one.
This book was really good and I recommend it to all m/m lovers.
