REVIEW:
This story is just so damn sweet. I swear, if you’re having a bad day…this is the book to totally bring you out of your funk. It’s not sugary sweet, just sweet enough to allow your mind and heart to melt at these two cute characters.
Caleb Gregson…this is man who is good looking and he knows it!! He’s never had to work to get a man in bed before and to find that this one guy…his new next door neighbor…isn’t going to sleep with him…WTH? Caleb isn’t sure how this happened or what to do. I like that Caleb…who you think is just this flirty guy…he’s so much more. I loved watching Caleb start to think outside of himself and just trying to help someone else. I like that Caleb realizes that he’s worth more than just the one-night stands that he’s had all his life. I like seeing Caleb grow as a person.
Wyatt Jacobs is very new to San Francisco. He’s moved from his beloved Georgia to California after the death of his beloved mother. I like that Wyatt is seemingly just this really sweet guy who doesn’t really know how to be friends with someone as it’s truly been just him and his momma. I like that Wyatt still has the fresh hurt from his momma’s death and yet, he’s still trying to live his life. I like that Wyatt is perfect and that he’s human. I like that he said no to Caleb and really started them both on this road to friendship.
This book is really just a sweet story regarding two men who have lived pretty lonely lives and how what started out as nothing…became something HUGE!! This story takes place over a short period of time and yet, that still seems to work for me. I like that it moved slowly…yet quickly as well. That these two men who didn’t really know what love and friendship was…to see that in each other…it was really sweet.
I will say that this book did have some sexy times in it, however, it was never graphic and it truly wasn’t out of place. Most of the sexy times was when our guys were alone and thinking of the other, so that when they finally got together like that…it was really sweet and tender. Which I find is really what worked for these two.
There was really nothing big going on in this story. Not a lot of angst, no outside detractors. This was simply put…a sweet story of two men who met, start a friendship and fall in love. However, I will say that the best part was Black Jack the kitty!!!
