TITLE: Cat Games
AUTHOR: Angora Shade
PUBLISHER: Torquere Press
LENGTH: 71 pages
BLURB:
She was quiet—an introvert, a thinker. They called her Mouse. But beneath her veneer was a passionate hunger and desire for those around her, and a longing to act out fantasies she didn’t even know she had. After a brutal betrayal by her former lover, Mouse’s journey toward sexual fulfillment begins with a justified revenge led by Rayne—a dominant and more knowledgeable goddess—where Mouse experiences her first female sexual encounter and develops a taste for non-vanilla sex. Through Rayne’s guidance, Mouse is pushed to take charge of her sexuality and learn what it is she truly desires, allowing her to transform from a shy, timid creature, to one with claws. Tables turn unexpectedly, and suddenly the pupil becomes the teacher.
REVIEW:
The title for this story is rather apt, although Mind Games would be better suited. The story starts with revenge sex, involving two girls using and abusing one of the main character’s douche bag soon to be ex-boyfriend. The scene took me by surprise for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I received this book to review as same sex so did not expect to read about a guy getting a blow job. Secondly, the act of wrapping him head to toe in plastic wrap, then fleeing the scene leaving him for someone to find was extremely dangerous. The body cannot breathe so will quickly overheat. What they did was as risky as putting a plastic bag over someone’s head without cutting any breathing holes. But in the name of fiction, I won’t go further into that. I’m sure other readers will be shouting out, ‘way to go girls’!
After that scene a month goes by, the girls are roommates but nothing else happens between them. For some reason they are now playing ‘games’ with each other. When I read the word Mouse in the blurb I thought it would be used as a term of endearment, however in this story Rayne uses it to torment the heroine, therefore its used as a derogative term.
“I leave my bathroom door open and play with myself, and all you do is watch. All this makes you a mouse.” The words sting. Mice are weak. Mice have no control. I don’t want to be like that.
Moving forward, she finally gets to meet Rayne’s friends and proves herself via an orgy. I have no issue with multiple partners in books when it fits the plot! But again, it all just felt like one big game. Rayne gets it on with two guys, one after the other. Then after proving she is not a Mouse she finally gets to have her way with Rayne, which in the name of still playing games involved the use of a cucumber!
I received this book via same sex book reviews but cannot indorse it as same sex only! People who are into mind games, revenge sex, multiple partners and kink involving food, probably would enjoy this story.
