REVIEW:
I have deliberated long and hard over doing this review. This is the first outing for the author and I had been quite eager to read his novel after reading the blurb sent in to us. It sounded cute and fun. On the positive note, I did enjoy his main characters and supporting ones as well. Sam and Ty were sweet and wonderful although a bit angst-ish at times and they did have some fun adventures.
Unfortunately, this is where the enjoyment ended. The novel was riddled with errors. These are a few of my concerns. First of all, I believe it was set somewhere in the United States, however the author had the men driving to a ski lodge and bundling up in the snow in July. I don’t know where that would be taking place in the Continental United States. I do know that Ty is in various American city hospitals doing his year long surgical training. I don’t know why he would have to revert back to being called Mr. instead of Dr. because of this elite surgical training. I do know that they had a short flight to Seattle so I believe that they must be located somewhere near the west coast, perhaps California? The author was too vague for me to figure this out. In his biography on Amazon he states that he is an Aussie relocated to Switzerland. I don’t know if this is why the seasons are confused. This novel has huge promise but really needs the helping hand of a good editor and proofreader. I know a lot of readers don’t want to hear about the mechanics of preparation for sex but a bit is sometimes needed. Just letting you know that there was some loving preparation would have made the story flow a tad bit easier. As I stated, I believe that the author shows great promise and, with some helpful guidance, could release a fun novel. Unfortunately, as this one stands, it’s not it. It’s not that I didn’t like the characters or the storyline, it’s just that it needs some tidying up to become a fun read.
