Nothing much ever happens to Heather, until the day she’s innocently minding her own business when a bomb goes off – and she’s precipitated into the kind of adventure which in her world only happens to people on TV! Thankfully she’s about as prepared and resourceful as a girl can be, because all of a sudden she’s in the middle of a road movie along with an extraordinary woman named Natalie – the two of them running for their lives into and out of a mess of complicated situations in which nobody is ever quite what he or she might appear to be …
REVIEW:
This sweet little story has a bit of action/adventure and just a touch of romance to keep the heart warm.
Heather is a young woman who has lived a very lonely life. Nothing big has ever happened to her before. She knows she’s lonely and yet, she doesn’t know how to change that. All of that changes when she stops for a smoothie and is thrust into the trunk of her car and kidnapped!!! Heather isn’t that woman that we always read about, she’s not the epitome of EVERY woman you read about. She’s not this soft, slim and perfect woman. Heather is a normal average woman. She’s got flaws and she doesn’t weight in at 100 lbs soaking wet. But, Heather is resourceful, determined and yet, Heather has this sweetness about her that just makes you want to hug her tight.
Natalie…now Natalie is this woman of mystery. She kidnaps Heather and yet, she’s this really nice, sweet and yet, Oh So Damn Sexy Woman!!! She’s a broker of information and that has her on the run from some very dangerous people. Natalie is on the run and doing whatever it takes to stay alive. Natalie is alone in this world and has done what it took to survive. I like that Natalie is this character that has her own moral code. I like that she’s tough and sexy and still this really sweet woman.
I like that these two women are so different and yet, they fit together really well. They are funny together and I liked the fact that they still fell for each other. I liked that the romance was slowly built, even if it was for only a few days of knowing each other. They were really sweet and they just had me charmed. There was no sex in this story and I actually think that this story was all the sweeter for it.
I like that there was some action and adventure. I like that it wasn’t gory or graphic, but you fell into the story and got caught up with all that was going on. I have to say that for a story over 200 pages, this story flew by and it didn’t feel as it took any time at all. I just sat down and didn’t stop until the book was done. I couldn’t believe it, this book just flew by and I didn’t even notice, I was that caught up in the story.
