A bearded, chubby, tattooed and awesome author!
Ugh, I’m not even sure how to begin so let’s jump right on into the fray. Hello all, I’m Matt Ortiz and this is my first post for Love Bytes and I am so thrilled to be invited to participate. I’ve been writing part-time in the M/M genre for the last three years and truly enjoy it. I finally get to tell the odd stories running around my head and lo and behold people like them! Imagine that! Currently, I am knee deep in my Oswald Witches series and The Butcher, the Baker, the Custom Bike Maker series and am having a blast.
What to talk about… what to talk about… shoot. Here goes. Someone asked me if I outline my work and my answer was… am I supposed to? I’m a bit more fly by the seat of my pants. Sometimes my story comes out completely different than I anticipated. I don’t write for weeks on a time and then suddenly will write 20K in two days. The first time I saw someone had returned one of my books, it cut me to my core. The first time I appeared on the Best Seller list for my genre, I cried. Big sap that I am. My work is always evolving, always changing and I get so freaking stoked when a reader writes me to tell me how much they like my stories. Yeah Nimitz!
Okay and now my rant—Chicken Fries. Another great creation of the United States. No time to sit and eat fried chicken and french fries in a restaurant? No worries. Now we have Chicken Fries. Relax and drive down the highway and stuff your face with deep fried chicken shaped like fries because chicken naturally comes in the shape of french fries! As a nation we are too focused on speed and comfort. Is it so hard to take time out for a decent lunch? To sit and eat slowly? To stop hurdling onward to what? I say nay to Chicken Fries and eating in my vehicle. Though I still like having my coffee when I’m driving to work… that doesn’t count. LOL
Next post, more opinions, more of me.
One last thing. I am immensely proud that my quirky novella: Desdemona Darkly: When Mickey met Hugh, has made Honorable Mention with the Rainbow Awards.
I read Desdemona Darkly very recently Matt and really liked it – hoping there will be more from this motley crew!
I just downloaded Desdemona Darkly and am looking forward to reading.
Hi Matt! I love Desdemona Darkly. So funny!!!
