A warm welcome to author Kate Pearce joining us today on her Riptide blog tour for newest release “Triumph”.
Welcome Kate 🙂
The Tribute series comprising Sacrifice,(Sept) Retribution (Oct) and Triumph (Nov) was an interesting series to write. It has elements of things I’ve always written—characters with fluid sexuality, edgy sex, and science fiction world building, but I’d never added the non con, dub con, violence and horror aspects before. When the idea first came to me quite a few years ago I was reluctant to even bother to try and write it because at that time I had no idea what I’d do with it if I did write it. There was no kindle or nook reading devices, and not many publishers who would be interested in tentacle horror erotica.
Luckily for me, times have changed, and self-publishing and niche publishers have ensured that every single one of us who have a particular sexual fantasy or maybe a kinkier reading streak can find books to satisfy our needs. I’m all for it.:) I knew if I self-published these book they would end up being sent to amazon’s dungeon, and no one would ever get to read them. So I’m glad that Riptide came along and gave me the opportunity to get these books out there.
I love the fact that these days I can go online and find romances that encompass all colors of the rainbow, all types of kink, and every kind of love story from threesomes, to blue-skinned aliens to Amish maidens and beyond. I really believe that no one should ever be ashamed of what they choose to read or write. I think women in particular are quite capable of distinguishing between their fantasies and their real life. I do realize I’m not going to be swept off my feet by a space viking from Planet Valhalla but I do expect to find love with a partner who respects me and allows me to be myself.
How has your reading changed over the past few years? Do you read books that you never imagined yourself reading before? Have your tastes changed, or narrowed? Do you enjoy the darker themes or threesomes, or tentacled aliens? (By the way, if you said yes to the last three, you’ll love the Tribute series, which is also available in one volume print and digital.)
About Triumph
Rehz Akran has had enough of the Tribute program and its sadistic overseer, Palk. When Palk captures Rehz’s mate, Anna Lee, and offers her and Aled Price to the Ungrich for further research, Rehz is ready for rebellion. But first, with the help of Kai Mexr—who wants Aled back just as much as Rehz wants Anna—he must break into the Ungrich world, rescue Anna, and discover why they want her so badly.
The chilling answer to that question lies in Anna’s forgotten origins—origins that Aled shares. To save their lovers, Rehz and Kai must take on Palk and a government that is more than willing to sacrifice Anna and Aled to keep the peace.
The two couples join forces—in more ways than one—and together they discover that they may be capable of defeating two civilizations and changing the course of Mitan history forever.

I know that the scope of my reading material do change over the years. I know if I ever come across a book I can’t stomach at present that I should try a year or more later because I’ve found my tolerance for it might have changed.
