In his private life he is Master Noah, a very popular dominator at the Circle, one of the most exclusive private clubs in Boston. For him, at work as well as in the dungeon, people and events are just variables to be interpreted, numbers to be broken down, combinations to consider and evaluate.
But when the latest, most difficult deal threatens to make his company sink without trace, his only chance seems to be the large investment fund managed by the mysterious Martin Scheer. And in order to provide credit, Martin demands a very special guarantee.
For both of them it’s just business. Yet, what was supposed to be a mere contract might just shatter the perfect surface of their lives.
And will talented player Noah be willing to gamble following brand new rules?

REVIEW:
OK, so let me break this one down a bit. This story was a good 60% business, takeover, acquisitions, financing, financiers, lenders, lawyers, legal speak, corporate takeover, etc. which wouldn’t be so bad if it was interlaced with some sort of relationship. Attraction, I don’t know…but something……it was not. The actual romantic part came well after the 60% mark and my problem is there should have been something here and there to keep us in the romance book mode. There was not.
Noah Kress is the quintessential business man. His whole life is his business. He works for his company and the people that work for him. So he’s devastated when investments don’t go as planned.
Along comes the legendary Master M…Martin Scheer. Martin sees a challenge and goes for it in fellow Master Noah.
The struggle obviously comes from both characters being tried and true dominators. I will admit I was really hesitant to see how this would play out but I wasn’t surprised to see that overall it didn’t work for me.
As I mentioned a good 60% was all business mumbo-jumbo…a good 30% was these two characters HATING each other. Like viscerally hating each other which made it hard for me to see the connection.
I will admit when they connected holy heck it was magical. You actually felt two damaged souls coming together and it was beautiful but it should have been way more than business….more focus should have been spent on the couple. If that were the case this story would have been through the moon good!!
Overall, this was just ok for me….at points I had to force myself to read and I think that’s telling.
