Join the fun in this vibrant first installment of the new romantic comedy serial by best-selling author Leta Blake and newcomer Alice Griffiths!
After a drunken night of hot sex in Vegas, strangers Will Patterson and Dr. Patrick McCloud wake up married. A quickie divorce is the most obvious way out—unless you’re the heir of a staunchly Catholic mafia boss with a draconian position on the sanctity of marriage.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Will and Patrick don’t like it, or each other, but they have to make the best of it until they can find another way out of their marriage. To ensure the trust fund Will’s charitable foundation relies on isn’t revoked by his mobster grandfather, he and Patrick travel to Will’s hometown of Healing, South Dakota, posing as a newlywed couple in the throes of true love at first sight.
Complicating their scheme are Will’s unresolved feelings for his all-too-recent ex-boyfriend Ryan, and Patrick’s desire to get back to the only thing that really matters to him in life: neurosurgery. Will they fool everyone? Or will the mafia get wind that their marriage is a fake? Throw their simmering attraction into the mix and all bets are off!
REVIEW:
I am really loving the serialized fiction format. The whole idea of the ongoing romantic comedy episodes are incredibly intriguing. It doesn’t hurt that they are written by one of my favorite authors in this genre. I’ve realized Leta Blake can really do no wrong when she writes a story. It’s also apparent that teaming up with “new to me” author Alice Griffiths is a match made in heaven. This romantic comedy was so much fun to read.
Will and Patrick meet in Vegas under stressful circumstances for both men. They end up drinking their weight in liquor, getting married, and having mind blowing sex all night. Thinking they made an easily corrected mistake Patrick is not at all prepared for the drastic repercussions of their actions. Finding himself in a position where he can actually pick up and move, Patrick accompanies Will to his small town in hopes they’ll find a way to get out of their disastrous marriage.
There are a lot of little sub plots going on in this short story. There’s an opportunistic hateful ex, addictive behaviors, a Mafioso family with archaic traditions, small town gossip, and tons of angsty cuteness.
What’s killing me is the tension. We get snippets of how things were sexually between these two men and HOLY HOTNESS….wow. I can’t wait for the nitty gritty….it’s building and it’s going to explode and I am so looking forward to it.
I definitely recommend this cute little romantic comedy. Its angsty and delicious and has hooked me in!!! Bring on the Family….!!!!
