GRL is over for another year. I can hardly believe I’m writing those words! GRL 2015, whose arrival I anticipated all year long, is over.
And already I miss everyone! This picture, which I took the very, very last minute before we left the ballroom where they’d already cleared away brunch, shows the rag tag few of us who simply didn’t want to leave. And Gosh darnit, there are people in that photo whose faces I know, but I’m having trouble identifying. Kayla and Wade over my shoulder, were our neighbors… In an ironic Halloween twist, they had Room #666. I wanted to scritchy-scratch their walls at night so they’d get scared, but I behaved.
Of course, Charlie’s wearing her flower. She came to the masquerade as a Steampunk Blonde and despite the fact that she had a flower, I didn’t recognize her at all. (She’s got some serious moves; Dexter J. Dailey has nothing on Charlie Cochet.)
Belinda McBride was kind enough to put up with me for a week. I’m sure she’ll need therapy, but as far as I know, we had a great time. OMG Phil’s Barbecue. Delicious BBQ. YUM. Too much food. But seriously. Whenever I’m in San Diego, Phil’s. Even if they did make me wear a pig sticker. (A sticker with a pig on it, because that’s what they give “newbies.”)
So that’s Paul Wright and CB Lee, and Linda (Le Franks) But I was having trouble with the last person, on the upper right, I know you. We hang out. Is that Alexa Land?
Anyhow. We got that last moment together, for which I’m so grateful! I’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone next year!
Be well and safe! Happy Halloween!
