At an economics conference Gail Garvey ends up sharing a room with a teacher she had a crush on twenty years ago. They’re both professors now, and Gail’s crush has long faded, but finding herself in the same room as Professor Joanne Ferguson two nights in a row proves to be more challenging than Gail would like to believe.
REVIEW:
Imagine having a crush on your teacher then twenty years later, while attending a conference, you find yourself sharing a room with her, due to a series of events out of your control! That is exactly the situation Gail finds herself in with her former crush, Professor Joanne.
I found the set-up original and interesting. I liked that the story was so much more than a simple teacher/student hook-up. People change a lot over twenty years and a crush, just like a fantasy, can be very different than reality. The fact both ladies had to actually get to ‘know’ each other was great.
The first night they had to share a bed, to quote Gail, I found ‘highly arousing’! I could picture myself in the same situation the anticipation of wondering – will we or won’t we. And did they or didn’t they? I’m not going to say. The build-up to the grand finale was half the enjoyment of this short story, for me.
Of course there is sexual content, and that’s when the heat level goes from ‘highly arousing’ to ‘smoking hot panty melting erotica’. With that said the sex complimented the story and didn’t feel like it was thrown in for the sole purpose of turning up the heat.
The only reason I didn’t give this story five stars was the ending, it didn’t give me any closure, therefore the story felt unfinished. I personally would have liked to know if the ladies went their separate ways after the conference or kept in touch.
