Simon McLeod was a promising young naval captain before his ship was attacked and CIA agents forced him to fake his death and join their ranks. Since that horrible night, Simon has focused on finding the men responsible for ending his career. He’s close now, but he needs help from the man he loves. The problem is Edgar is straight, has no idea how Simon feels, and threatened to strangle him the last time they were together.
After years of using his medical expertise to patch Simon up after ill-advised missions, Edgar told Simon not to come running to him anymore. Watching Simon self-destruct was too painful. But when Simon shows up on Edgar’s doorstep covered in blood, Edgar can’t turn him away. He also can’t fight the feelings he has for Simon, feelings that go way beyond friendship.
Neither man thought he’d ever truly be happy again, but if they can survive a final dangerous mission, they might be able to prove themselves wrong.

Simon’s eyes widened. He flailed as he tried to push himself up from the couch. Edgar straddled him so he couldn’t get away without hurting them both. “Enough games, Si. It’s time to tell me the fucking truth.”
Simon’s pupils were huge and Edgar could see the pulse beating at his throat. He had an urge to run his tongue over the fluttering skin to see if that made it go even faster.
Simon licked his lips. “What truth? I don’t know what—”
“Don’t you dare play me, Si. You owe me more respect than that.”
“I’m not…” The words died and Si looked away. “Please don’t make me do this. It will ruin everything.”
“Will it?” Maybe Simon hated that he wanted Edgar. Maybe he hated Edgar as much as Edgar had tried to hate Si when he’d sent him away. “Tell me you don’t want me, and I’ll let you up.”
The burner phone he’d gotten for Simon buzzed, rumbling across the table. Both men froze. Then slowly, Edgar stood and glanced at the phone’s screen. “Danny. He always did have perfect timing.”
Simon reached for the phone gingerly, like he was afraid it would bite him. Or maybe he thought Edgar would pin him again if he moved too fast.

Silvia Violet writes erotic romance in a variety of genres including paranormal, contemporary, and historical. She can be found haunting coffee shops looking for the darkest, strongest cup of coffee she can find. Once equipped with the needed fuel, she can happily sit for hours pounding away at her laptop. Silvia typically leaves home disguised as a suburban stay-at-home-mom, and other coffee shop patrons tend to ask her hilarious questions like “Do you write children’s books?” She loves watching the looks on their faces when they learn what she’s actually up to. When not writing, Silvia enjoys baking sinfully delicious treats, exploring new styles of cooking, and reading to her incorrigible offspring.
