REVIEW:
For any of you who haven’t started reading Ms. Hazard’s Straight Guys series, I have a quick question. Why not? I’m loving this series. Anyone who follows my reviews will know that I reviewed the four previous books (one being a 0.5) and that I liked them all. I have to say that this current book is my favorite so far.
In Just a Bit Wrong we turn to the story of Tristan DuVal. Those of you who read Just a Bit Unhealthy, book #3 in the series, will remember Tristan as the not very likeable brother of Gabriel DuVal. The world sees Tristan as the nicer brother, but we the readers know that he is a pretty unlikeable little shit.
In this current book we learn far more about Tristan. Tristan is out on his third groin injury in six months and this time the team doctor insists that he work with Zach Hardaway, one of the top physiotherapists in Europe. The only problem is both men hate each other at first sight.
Tristan is secretly gay, but only does quick hookups in dark places so that no one knows who he is. Zach is the epitome of straight manhood. He has a girlfriend of many years who he is in an open relationship with, but that will change as soon as their upcoming wedding takes place.
So what will happen when the two men discover a mutual attraction that goes far beyond the patient/physiotherapist relationship? A lot of angst, that’s what. Both men are battling their own backgrounds and lives. Can Tristan get past his own inner low esteem? Can Zach admit he actually cares for the brat?
As with all the books in this series, Alessandra Hazard does a fantastic job bringing us into the lives and storylines of her characters. I very highly recommend this current installment, but also think you should read the others as well. I would say this one could be read as a standalone and think they all could, however, the characters follow from book to book, or are at least related, so it helps to read them in order. No matter what order you read them in though, I recommend you read them all. I think you will become as enamored with Ms. Hazard’s writing as I have!
