LENGTH: 37 Pages
BLURB:
Years ago author Micah Shea had a dream about a sexy adventurer, seeing the man in perfect detail. He’s been using the hot fellow as his muse—and star of his books—ever since. He’s always assumed Declan Muse was just a figment of his imagination.
That all changes when he meets avid reader Trevor, who is the exact embodiment of Declan, down to the phoenix tattoo on his back. At first Micah is drawn to Trevor because of the uncanny resemblance to the man of his dreams, but it soon becomes more than that and Micah falls for the real thing.
Afraid of coming off as a psycho Micah is hesitant to tell Trevor about Declan Muse, but Trevor learns the truth and it all goes to hell. Now Micah only has a short time to convince Trevor he isn’t a psycho and that their relationship deserves a chance at a future.
REVIEW:
This short story has been released at the perfect time of year. As the lucky authors, bloggers and readers head off to San Diego for GRL 2015, the rest of us can read books like this and imagine that orgies with porn stars really do go on behind the scenes at these conventions.
Micah Shea has just arrived at the Queer Town book convention, trying to forget that his ex-lover is currently off on a romantic getaway with his secretary. And could there be a better place to forget, considering the moment he enters the hotel he’s invited to an orgy, which includes his favourite porn star. It’s at the orgy that he first sees Trevor, who is a match for the star of Micah’s popular action novels from the tattoo on his back to the birthmark on his leg. Micah is immediately drawn to the fascinating man and they promptly end up in bed together. But how can Micah explain the freaky coincidence of his muse being an exact match for his new lover?
This story has a whole lot of smut though, admittedly, it’s a whole lot of enjoyable smut. The story may only be thirty-seven pages but main character Micah manages to have on page sex six (I think) times and with three different people. But somehow the author makes that work. The story is set over one weekend and the narrative between the sex scenes gives us insight into Micah and nudges the plot along. The result is a quick to read tale that’s light and fun with an interesting twist thrown in at the end.
If you’ve got a spare hour and need a book to fill the spot, then this one is certainly entertaining.
