BLURB:
Roque “Ro” Celdran dreams of a better life, far away from the hand-to-mouth existence of his migrant worker family. He moves to San Francisco to study Landscape Design but finds himself short of cash. Tony, Ro’s identical twin, comes up with a plan to help Ro make ends meet. The BDSM club Tony frequents is looking for gay men to act as submissives to the Dommes-in-training. Ro reluctantly takes the job and falls headfirst into a world he neither understands nor desires.
Lance Roberts is the new doctor at the dental practice started by Scott Gregory and Robin Kennedy. On the surface, he seems to have it all: the Mensa IQ, blond and blue-eyed good looks, and the determination to make it in his competitive field. Underneath lies a frustrated Dom in search of the perfect sub who can handle his obsessive behavior and debilitating need for control.
When Ro ends up in Lance’s dental chair, the last thing either one expects is a physical and mental connection. Ro’s attraction to “White Bread” never pans out, and Lance’s weakness for Latinos always leads to a dead end. Could this time be different? What happens between the two alphas leads to a lot of soul-searching and some surprising conclusions.
REVIEW:
I have thought about this review for over 24 hours to make sure I got my correct thoughts converged. I have loved this series so much but I wasn’t sure what I thought about this book at first. I wasn’t sure that it was a part of the series or a spin off. The first two books centered on Dental Hygienist, Robin “Red” Kennedy and his submissive and Business Partner, Dentist Scott Gregory. The first two books were only four months apart and left me with a series of questions and wanting to know the next chapter in their complex lives.
This third book in the series takes a huge jump five years later. Scott and Robin are embarking on an eight-week European vacation and have hired a new Periodontist out of New York, Lance Roberts. Since the men are leaving in the next couple day, Scott asks Lance if he can take a case for him. In a way to give back to the community, the practice takes a couple cases pro bono from Donated Dental Services each year. Roque “Ro” Celdran is the patient in question. He had been convinced by his twin brother to be a “sub-for-hire” for a local BDSM club and a series of events that went very wrong left the handsome Latino gentleman with massive damage to his gorgeous smile. Fractured takes you only the journey of these two men and their obvious attraction to each other.
While I grew to love Lance and Ro, I had a bit of difficulty getting into their story. I was disappointed to have had such a huge jump in time and several of my favorite characters were jumped over completely. Basically all I had left was Susie, their business partner and Lance’s dental assistant who was also the office manager. We saw a brief snippet of Scott and Robin and very little of Susie’s story line. I loved the story, don’t get me wrong. I was just disappointed to not know the rest of the story on Denise and David or what happened to Jenna. I am hoping for more insight in the next book. I am giving Fractured 4 hearts.
