Garrett Bowman is shocked that fate has brought him to a family who can sign. He’s spent much of his life on the outside looking in, even within his biological family, and to be accepted and employed is more than he could have hoped for. With Connor, who’s included him in his family, Garrett has found a true friend, but with the distant Brit Wilson Haskins, Garrett may have found something more. In no time, Garrett gets under Wilson’s skin and finds his way into Wilson’s heart, and over shared turbulent family histories, Wilson and Garrett form a strong bond.
Wilson’s especially impressed with the way Garrett’s so helpful to Janey, Connor and Dan’s daughter, who is also deaf. When Wilson’s past shows up in the form of his brother Reggie, bringing unscrupulous people to whom Reggie owes money, life begins to unravel. These thugs don’t care how they get their money, what they have to do, or who they might hurt. Without the strength of love and the bonds of family and friends, Garrett and Wilson could pay the ultimate price.

Cocktails & Characters
This has to be the hardest question I have ever been asked. See I don’t drink. Alcohol tastes terrible to me so I rarely have anything at all. Cocktails are something that Dominic makes and enjoys a great deal, but I never develop my characters around a specific cocktail and in all my books, other than the mention of a drink socially, I don’t think I’ve ever given a signature cocktail to any of my characters. I can see Garrett liking beer. In my mind he’s a beer kind of guy. Dan would probably have martini once in a while. I can see him sitting with Connor, holding his drink with a smile on his face. Connor would probably join Garrett in having a beer and Wilson, well I see him having the occasional gin on the rocks with a twist.
See. It’s interesting, but if I think about it, I can come up with something, but that isn’t natural to me and to tell you the truth, it has nothing to do with the cocktail themselves, but more with how I see them and how I think each drink seems to fit with their personality and how they would look drinking it. As for me, I’d probably be sitting outside with them all on a sunny afternoon, drinking a Diet Coke.
“They seem so nice,” Garrett signed. Wilson figured Garrett was more comfortable signing than talking. “And the job offer is almost too good to be true.” Color rose in Garrett’s cheeks.
“Dan and Connor are amazing men. They care about their family above all else,” Wilson answered. “They built their family.” Wilson paused and thought about how to say what he wanted to. “Dan adopted Lila and then Jerry. Together they adopted Janey. They have huge hearts.”
Garrett nodded. “I see that.”
“There’s more to it than that, but I can’t explain it to you. Dan is someone you have to get to know to understand. He’s extraordinary.” Wilson couldn’t explain without sounding ridiculous that Dan had the ability to see beyond the outside and to help the people in his life reach their potential. Some people might call it meddling, and Dan did that sometimes too, but mostly he brought out the best in people. “Trust me.” Wilson smiled, and Garrett smiled back.
“Okay, I will,” Garrett signed, and he seemed a little less nervous as he drank his water.
Wilson needed to look away and go back to work. Garrett had a way of smiling that made him look like a cross between a puppy and a hot man. He was puppy guy. Wilson had only been with him a few hours, but Garrett seemed to carry a huge weight on his shoulders. But when he smiled, that weight lifted away and he looked much younger and… puppylike. Someone you wanted to play with and roll around on the floor with. Wilson definitely wanted to roll on the floor with Garrett—but not to play puppy games, that was for sure.
Wilson’s job was to look after Dan’s house, and his duties did not extend to having lusty thoughts about the guy who would be helping Connor at the farm. He did not allow his work and love life to mix. Not anymore. That had happened once, and he wouldn’t put himself through that again. He had learned that lesson well.
He went back to finishing up his work. Dan and Connor were with the kids, and once the kitchen was clean, Wilson could go to his room and have a few hours of quiet time before he went to bed. He ran a cloth over the granite to clean the counter and then hung it up. Then he poured himself some coffee and sat at the table. Going to his room sounded good, but he didn’t want to leave Garrett sitting alone.

Congrats on the new book release! It looks fantastic. I’ve only read a couple books by Andrew and I guess the one I liked most from the ones I read was Bottled Up.
My favorite is probably Organic Chemistry. I already have the first four books in this series, though I’m behind on my reading. I’m looking forward to book 5. 🙂

A Taste of Love, Love Means… No Shame and Fire and Water are a few of my favorite books.
