REVIEW:
I love this book and the series. Detective Cristian Flesh is called to a murder scene and all the immediate evidence points to a young hustler. It seems like an open and shut case but it just seems too neat and something in Cristian’s gut tells him that something is not right. People start disappearing and more bodies are turning up. It does not take long to find that there is an underground underage prostitution ring going on and the people in power are doing everything to keep it quiet.
As with his other books, nothing is what it seems, boundaries are crossed and treachery is so thick it is maddening but Cristian is undeterred. The characters in this book are so exciting and multifaceted. There are many turns and twist but the author tells a deep story with many people however, he does it so masterfully that it is never difficult to follow.
I love the dynamics in the relationship between Colby and Cristian they are both growing and learning to be vulnerable to each other. Colby is definitely being patient as Cristian comes to terms with the ghosts of his past. The more that he pushes him away the more determined Colby is to prove that he is not going anywhere. There is one piece of business that is still holding Colby back and he decides it is finally time to confront that and if the reader thought the book was a roller coaster ride to this point that was just the first dip in the ride to a cataclysmic mind blowing climax.
This is an amazing book. This story is so powerful it will resonate with many people for so many reasons. If I could give this book more stars I would, it is honestly that good.
