REVIEW:
I don’t quite know where to start with this review about this book. I don’t know which threw me off the most about this story: the MCs or the confusion on location. I’ll explain…
The location: the author used words such as Firery and arse which made me think that the story takes place in Australia. I find out later on while reading that no, it takes place in the U.S. Which snatched me right out of the story and I can’t help but think that a good editor should have picked up on that. Nothing ruins a book quicker for me than shoddy editing.
Then there’s the problem with the MCs. These two men were moody and ill tempered. I mean they were really, really moody. The first date was a semi disaster with Zach losing his temper over something Dylan said that was meant as a bit of a joke. Then Dylan gets angry at Zach getting angry and just like that—they both calm down and enjoy the rest of their date. Only…Dylan gets angry and a bit snippy at the end of the parking lot at the end of the date!
This continues throughout the rest story and it got old really quick.
Then there were Dylan’s hangups about his masculinity: could he still be masculine or macho if he was a bottom, would he be considered the ‘girl’ or ‘woman’ in the relationship because he cooked for him…it was all rather ridiculous.
Between the shoddy editing and the moody MCs…I just could not get into this book.
Hot fireman + hot doctor, the formula was perfect but unfortunately, Ms. Baker’s execution was a bit off the mark with this one.
