A warm Love Bytes welcome to the next author in our GRL featured blogger tour Aisling Mancy
Welcome Aisling / Cody 🙂
Hi, I’m Aisling Mancy, and I’m getting ready for Gay Rom Lit Retreat! You probably know me by Cody Kennedy, and the young adult novels I have written. This will be my first time attending GRL and I am excited! A very special thanks to Dani and all the wonderful people at Love Bytes Reviews for supporting Gay Rom Lit, our books, and us!
Morticia asked a great question of me: What is the one genre you haven’t tried yet that
you’d really like to write in?
STEAMPUNK
I am fascinated by it. There are nearly no limitations to what you can imagine and write, and I have all manner of steampunkery going on in my brain. Where else can you mix science fiction, fantasy, alternative history, anachronistic technology, and retro-futuristic inventions? I love the works of Jules Verne, HG Wells, and Mary Shelley and, while I have dabbled in writing steampunk, I haven’t written a full-length novel.
STEAMPUNKERY RULES!
I have several novels and a novella coming out over the next ten months. Solitary Man (co-write with the wonderful Shira Anthony) will release on November 6th, Sleight of Heart is anticipated to release in December, and the sequels to Omorphi, Tharros and Elipizo, will release in first and second quarters, 2016. In addition, Grotesque is planned for Valentine’s Day. Following, I’ll write another young adult novel and then…. wreak all kinds of steampunkery!
Here’s a snippet from Grotesque (coming next year):
An ancient book, a warrior sworn to protect it, and a neurotic homeless young man.
“Where do you go at night?” Zori had asked.
“I can’t tell you,” Sam had said firmly.
Sam guarded the book that night, but even that didn’t shut out the sound of Zori’s sobs as he cried himself to sleep. Sam’s perfect loneliness had turned to an excruciating agony he could never have conceived of.

“Do you truly want to know?” Sinclair asked.
Sinclair’s lighthearted demeanor was absent in the question and it frightened Zori. “Y-yes.”
“And you will not be frightened by the grotesque?”
Zori swallowed hard. “He goes clubbing to get laid. That’s okay. I can handle it.”
“No.”
Zori looked at Sinclair now, the gravity of the single word almost frightening. “Where?”
“Follow me.”

About Aisling Mancy
Raised on the mean streets and back lots of Hollywood by a Yoda-look-alike grandfather, Aisling doesn’t conform, doesn’t fit in, is epic awkward, and lives to perfect a deep-seated oppositional defiance disorder. In a constant state of fascination with the trivial, Aisling contemplates such weighty questions as If time and space are curved, then where do all the straight people come from? When not writing, Aisling can be found taming waves on western shores, pondering the nutritional value of sunsets, appreciating the much maligned dandelion, unhooking guide ropes from stanchions, and marveling at all things ordinary.
Aisling lives, most of the time, on the West Coast of the United States. Aisling writes science fiction, adult fantasy, and adult romance. You can also read Aisling’s Young Adult novels at C. Kennedy. Find Aisling on Twitter @AislingMancy, Facebook, Goodreads, and Blog. Aisling does respond to emails because, after all, it is all about you, the reader.
Aisling brought a giveaway to Love Bytes. Leave a comment below along with your email address and be entered for a chance to win an ecopy of my novel, Omorphi or Safe.
