My inspiration wall
Being self-published gives me a lot of benefits. Creative control, timing for release, triple editing, an army of proofers and most importantly I get complete control over cover art.
I also, and this is the best thing, get to have my cover art before I write. This means when I write I have the art sitting in front of me and I can accurately describe my heroes. This is also good because I will have chosen the men in the first place, and Meredith (and a couple BitterGrace) will have created a cover that has inspiration points from our discussions on what the book is about.
I’m also really lucky to have an office with lots of blank space on the walls, and so the inspiration wall was born. At first it was just my supersize Christmas Throwaway Cover, then I added The Heart Of Texas, but I didn’t value the wall as much as I should have. Only when I began writing Bodyguards did I think that switching from the image on a screen to putting it right in front of my face on the wall was a good thing. Now, as soon as I have new cover art I get the posters printed (£6 from PhotoBox) and I move the posters around depending on when they were done and what is new.
In this picture is my current WIP, Sanctuary 8 (Accidental Hero). There is also The Road to Frosty Hollow, Deacon’s Law, and Love’s Design, just three of my new books that I am getting ready to write.
Authors are you inspired by the cover art you have? Do you have control over your art? Readers, what stands out about different art to you?
Coming Soon!
The final book in the Texas series which started with The Heart of Texas will be available 25 September.
Sometimes Riley and Jack have to be the ones to fight other people’s battles and stand up for what is right.
With the life changing prospect of a yes vote from SCOTUS on the issue of same sex marriage, Riley and Jack realise they have decisions to make. Add in some distressing family news and the very real possibility that old secrets may resurface, and this last book in the Texas series pulls together as many threads as the boys can manage to handle.
But through all the ups and the downs, children, family events, laughter, and tears, there is nothing as special as the forever love between these two men.
This is one of the many points I appreciate in a good Author’s books. When they take the time to ensure every detail is covered. Your happily reading & come to… he ran his fingers through the long lustrous strands of platinum hair; down over the smoothly deliciously pale & unmarked torso..& look at the cover .. both have short hair or tattoos/scars. It certainly throws Me off the storyline… Huge Huff!
