LENGTH: 143 Pages
BOX SET BLURB:
Not all romances are sweet and fluffy.
Pounding music and writhing bodies fill the dance floor at Night Moves. A small, very elite group of friends called the Bad Boys Club use the place as their personal hunting grounds. Spoilt, powerful, and totally amoral, they use men without thought for the consequences of their actions. But each of these predators harbors a secret desire, a passion, that drives him.
And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Three dangerous paranormals on the prowl for a mate stalk the humans. Dark and deadly desires are their calling cards. A demon prince, an ancient vampire, and one of the deadliest werewolves to exist have their sights on The Bad Boys Club and their sensual secrets. Love comes in all forms, even for unscrupulous humans and lethal paranormals.
BOX SET REVIEW:
Although this book was actually released previously as three separate novellas, this time it has been released as a “box set”, all in one book. I’ve decided to give the overall book the rating, but do the review in three pieces below. I particularly liked getting to know just how evil the four members of the Bad Boys Club were before we got to the main story that tied all three stories together. I’m really glad that these novellas have been released in one volume, because they really do read like one book. I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a foray in the supernatural, where the bad guys get just what they’ve got coming for them!
My only negative comment is about the cover. This cover was also used by another author with a very similar title. In addition, I don’t recall any characters in this book having anything to do with motorcycles, so it doesn’t fit this book at all. Bad call Changeling Press.
RATING:
Story #1 – Lust and Ice
BLURB:
They call him Ice. Kain’s a spoiled rich man’s son with money to burn. An endless parade of men through his bedroom has left him empty and wanting. When he and his friends meet at their usual nightclub and place bets on who’ll score for the evening, Kain eyes a sexy stranger. Electricity jumps between them, and Ice decides the handsome man will be in his bed screaming out his pleasure before the night is through.
Dark and deadly desires are Asmodeus’s calling cards. Those that fall to his wicked ways are doomed to an eternity of unfulfilled lust in the second level of Hell. This is no man to be played with… because this is no man. He’s the Prince of Lust, one of the seven princes of Hell. And he’s been granted the right to take a mate by his master, Lucifer. He’s searched through the ages for the one that will satisfy his sinful needs, but none have made the cut.
Until now.
The Bad Boys’ club has picked the wrong targets this time — Hell’s come to claim its own.
REVIEW:
Kain and his friends in the Bad Boys Club are not very nice people. In fact most of us would call them evil bastards. Going through the “fresh meat” at their favorite club is their favorite past time. Kain is the son of extreme wealth and has never had to worry about money in his life. He is extremely callous, self-centered and doesn’t give a crap about the men he picks up.
When we meet him, he is making bets with his friends, Jordan, Allen and Hugh on all of their “conquests” for the evening. Kain sees someone who really sparks his interest, but when the man disappears, he settles for another man, who he takes home and treats like trash.
But what about the mystery man? Who is he? When the mystery man, Asmodeus, comes back the next night and Kain agrees to take him home, his whole life is about to change. And not necessarily in a good way!
Story #2 – Into the Darkness
BLURB:
Pounding music and writhing bodies fill the dance floor at Night Moves. Brothers Jordan and Allen share everything, and are part of a very small, very elite group of friends. What do they have in common? More money, power, and connections than most people can even fathom. These young men consider themselves above the law. Spoilt, powerful, and totally amoral, they use men without a thought for the consequences of their actions. Tonight the brothers have their sights set on a sexy redhead — they’re determined to have him in their bed!
Chaus is an ancient vampire as cold as his deadly kiss. Driven by a taste for kink, he’s searched for centuries to find someone as debauched and sinful as he is, only to be continuously disappointed by humans and nonhumans alike. One desire drives him: a pet to call his mate that he can torture and pleasure with his lethal desires. His hunt has brought him to Night Moves, and he’s on the prowl.
Jordan and Allen are out for fun, and they place a bet on a deadly game. But they’re playing with a predator — and a dark, hidden secret that the brothers possess will be the catalyst that brings Fate down on them. The Bad Boys Club has once again picked the wrong target to play with.
REVIEW:
Story two moves on to two other members of the Bad Boys Club. Brothers Jordan and Allen are total narcissistic bastards who revel in hurting other people. They love to pick up men and “use” them together. They are also cut-throat business men, who enjoy buying people’s companies out from under them and laying off their employees. The only human being either cares about on the planet is each other.
After the betting I mentioned in the story review above, the four friends have gone off on their own. The brothers have fixated on a skinny young redhead (their favorite flavor of plaything) and they work their wiles to pick him up and take them to home for some double-penetration, never knowing they are playing right into his hands.
What will happen when the “plaything” turns out to be a millennia old vampire? Turns out the brothers might not be the apex predators they thought they were….
Story #3 – Haunting the Night
BLURB:
Only one member of the Bad Boys Club remains. Hugh. The name of the game is control. Hugh’s a lawyer for a well-known defense firm. That was Daddy’s choice — both the profession and the firm. His father’s control is second only to that of the wealthy society Hugh moves in. In Hugh’s world, image is everything. But appearances can be deceiving. Blond hair, cornflower blue eyes, a cute face and boyish charm belie the shark within… His obsession? Hot cars. And small, blond twinks. Enter Tobis. This sweet young twink isn’t at all what he appears to be. Alpha of the Blood Moon pack, Tobis is one of the strongest weres around. And he’s on the hunt. Tobis’ obsession? Leather. Particularly on his submissive mate. And then there were none…
REVIEW:
Finally we come to the end of this short trilogy, and the story of Hugh. He is the one remaining member of the Bad Boys Club whose story we had yet to hear. Hugh isn’t any nicer than the other members of the “Club”. He is heartless and treats people poorly. As we join his story he has just finished a tough defense trial getting a high profile client off on a murder charge. One gets the impression he could care less if the client was innocent or not.
Within the first scene he forces his chauffer to perform oral sex on him and humiliates the poor man while doing it. He can’t even remember the guy’s name, and he drives him around every day!
Things are getting ready to change though. Hugh is off to meet his friends, and a certain blond haired twink who will catch his eye. What will happen when the “mark” Tobis turns out to be a very powerful werewolf? Before the night is over, Hugh will have bitten off much more than he can chew!
