REVIEW:
As some of you may remember, I did a Series Review on the first three books of this series back in March. If you’d like a refresher, that review is here. I really enjoy the Corey Shaw Mystery books. I know there is going to be lots of action, some sex, a psionic cop, bad guys and a mystery of some sort. They never fail to please!
“Legacy of Hephaestsus” begins immediately after the end of “Invisible Curtain”, which is book three in the series. Corey Shaw, American Psionic Corp officer from Boston has just finished up the cruise with his family where he was almost killed in the previous book. Now to the surprise of his family, Corey announces he is off to Norway for a little mini vacation to recover from his family vacation!
Now Corey can cut loose. He is single after a recent breakup, and it is time to sow some wild oats. The first night in Amsterdam he picks up a hot ginger who reminds him of Prince Harry, but in a more sexy way, and has a wild night. The next day he picks up a hot airline flight attendant and again has a wild night, after which the flight attendant plans to meet him in Oslo for a follow-up. Little do they know that they will meet a few hours later on the plane that Corey is on, and the flight attendant is crewing! Nor do they realize their follow-up date will never occur!
While Corey is in Amsterdam, the world’s newly discovered largest yellow diamond has been stolen from a very secure location. While Corey thought it interesting, it didn’t have anything to do with him, correct? So why are people following Corey? And when he returns to Boston why do they break in and search his home?
When Corey is sent on assignment back to Norway, to help track down a missing scientist/professor from a Boston school, things heat up. Corey and we finally get our answers, but along the way we have a lot of story, and some plot twists.
I enjoy Alex’s writing style. I eagerly look forward to more books in this series. I’m also off to search out another series written under another name, and I’ll bring that to you soon! I recommend this book, and the entire series. The first three books are shorter…so why not pick up all four and get started on them today!
