Before I head down to San Diego for GRL, I’ll be heading up the coast to Seattle for GRNW (Gay Romance Northwest). It takes place Saturday, September 26th – although there’s a reading at the University bookstore and some pre-con get togethers Friday evening. This is the third year it’s taken place and the third year I’ll be going. It’s low key, low cost and there’s always a great line-up of authors as well as some really interesting panels. The convention portion takes place in the Bill Gates auditorium of the downtown Seattle Public Library and the free book fair is across the street at the Monaco Hotel afterwards.
This year, I’ll be joining fellow authors Charley Descoteaux, Amelia Gormley, Joseph Lance Tonlet, Grace R. Duncan and Viktor Alexander for a panel on Writing Kink Responsibly. The panel was actually author Lou Sylvre’s idea, but due to health issues she can’t attend, and we’re missing her already! To say that this will be interesting panel is, in my opinion, a huge understatement. I love all of these authors and their works, so it’s a great honor to be on the panel with them. Also, since I’m familiar with what they write, it’ll be interesting to find out what they have to say on various and sundry subjects. *Rubs hands together with glee*
I don’t want to ‘spoiler’ our panel, so I can’t get into too much of what topics we’ll focus on, but I will say that it should prove to be… um, you know…Sigh. Every single word or phrase I think of devolves into double entendre, so never mind. If nothing else, I’m sure it’ll be entertaining. And speaking of entertaining – Saturday night after the book fair, there’ll be an unusual amount of LGBT authors tearing up Seattle, so join us if you can. We always have a great time.
