Hello all! Thank you so much for joining me for my monthly author column here on Love Bytes Reviews! Tomorrow is the release of Charmed & Dangerous: Ten Tales of Gay Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. I am so excited about being part of this fantastic lineup. When Jordan Castillo Price emailed me about the project, I had no idea which authors would be involved, but I trusted her completely. I’m pretty sure I’d said yes in my head before I even finished reading the email. Then I saw the lineup and was filled with a mixture of awe and anxiety. I mean being in an anthology with awesome authors is one thing, but so many of these authors had been rocking the paranormal M/M world long before me. I admit, I panicked a little. There’s always the fear that your story won’t cut it, but again I trusted Jordan and her awesomeness.

When writing The Soldati Prince, I wanted to write a story that was still somewhat grounded in reality but also had more paranormal and fantasy than the THIRDS, so enter a whole other magical realm sitting side by side our human world. I fell pretty quick for Riley and Khalon. The two were just so much fun to write. Riley’s a smart aleck (are you surprised?). He’s sharp witted and sharp tongued. Does he care that he’s out-muscled by a huge tiger-shifter king from another realm? Nope. Riley infuriates Khalon, the king of the Soldati–a race of magical warriors that can shift from tiger to human and back. Khalon is immortal. He and his warriors have been fighting demons and keeping them from harming humans since humans roamed the earth. Khalon isn’t used to having a puny little human defy him. Riley has a smart response for everything, and it drives Khalon crazy. He’s determined to set right what he believes has been a terrible mistake. That is the one thing Riley can agree on. Will their adventure to set this wrong to right end the way they’d hoped?

“I don’t give a shit who you are,” Riley ground out through his teeth. “Don’t touch me.”

Khalon threw a hand out, wrapping it around Riley’s slender neck. “You are mine until otherwise released.” He brushed his thumb across soft skin, the stir it caused in Khalon’s stomach unsettling.

“Screw you! I’m not scared of you.”

Khalon leaned in, his fangs growing as he grinned at the all but trembling prince. “Then why do you reek of fear?”

Riley lifted his chin in defiance. “I reek of a guy who got chased by a bunch of demons down a piss-stained alley.”
