Now he just has to convince his company’s CFO, Eli Ovadia. Unfortunately, Justin can’t seem to keep his cool around the domineering Eli—and soon he finds himself taking their heat from the boardroom into the bedroom….

REVIEW:
I had read the first book that kinda ties in, Takeover and I really enjoyed it. I was excited to see the second book come out and I wanted to review this story.
Eli Ovadia is this man who has lived through some horrible things. His first lover, Noah was killed in a car crash along with two other passengers. Eli was the only one left alive. Eli was really hurt in the crash and now he walks with a limp. Eli has truly removed himself from complications in his life and yet, he’s lonely. He wants to have a loving relationship with someone, but how to go about it when you’re seen as cold and aloof? Eli is also a sought after Dom. Eli
Justin White is a young man who also has had some issues in his past. He was in a relationship that he thought worked for him until he realized that Francis, his ex-Dom wasn’t all he said he was. Justin was a rising star at the job of his dreams until Francis became the center of his world. Justin was slowly but surely being led into a Master/slave relationship with Francis and he didn’t even know it. When he left…he left with the clothes on his back and ran. He decided from then on…he would NEVER be another man’s toy again. Justin has slowly but surely regained his life back and he’s almost ready to graduate from grad school. He takes a job that will give him wonderful experience and there….things get complicated.
I really enjoyed seeing Sam and Michael from Takeover. I like how Sam is a huge secondary character in this book. I love seeing how their relationship has grown and become even stronger over time. Eli’s parents…well…I’m not sure how I feel about them, but it was nice to see growth on both parts. Justin’s family…they were so supportive of him and his schooling and like most parents…they wanted the very best for him.
I will say that this book was choked full of angst on the part of both MC’s. Eli having to deal with with the aftermath of his car crash, the death of his lover and two friends, as well as the relationship with his parents. Jeez. Justin…it was dealing the trauma of losing himself in that relationship with Francis, as well as owning his part in it. His feelings of guilt regarding his sister, Mercy and her injuries from serving her country and well as letting down his parents. There was truly a lot for our guys to be dealing with, however, I will say that I really liked the two of them together. They each helped to bring out the best in each other. I like that Eli will honestly admit that he’s been in therapy for more than half his life and he’s still learning to deal. Justin, in my humble opinion could really use some therapy. He really needs to work on what happened with Francis and his deal with his feelings regarding his part in their relationship. His feelings of being bought and paid for using his body…I think he really needs to lay on a couch and work that out.
Now you know me and I’ll let you know that there was some really good sexy times in this book. There is a fair amount of BDSM in this story, so if that’s not your thing…this might not be the best book for you. These two together were really freaking HOT!!!
There is one think that truly bothered me about this book…it was the lack of communication between these two. I mean…really…you two can have sex with each other and can’t even talk about some the most important thoughts and issues that are holding you back? You can run and act like petulant children instead of actually talking to each other???
Overall, this book was truly absorbing, angsty, sexy, good time and I really enjoyed it. I will say you will sit down to read this book and not want to get up until it’s over. A very good read!!
