TITLE: Skin Tight Levi’s
SERIES: Love and Salvage #4
AUTHOR: Mathew Ortiz
PUBLISHER: Mathew Ortiz
LENGTH: 157 Pages
BLURB:
When most guys looked at Seth Okuda all they saw was pretty and girly. He hated the fact that guys wouldn’t look past his exterior and look further. After ending his last relationship, in which he let the guy change so much about him for the guy, Seth swore he would only date men who wanted him just the way he was, even if that came with a household of quirky, protective roommates, a hideously overbearing mother and a ghost. Yeah like that wasn’t instant birth control!
Levi Gaither was the quiet and the youngest of his parent’s brood of six. All his siblings managed to escape his parent’s abuse and he almost did…almost. Battered emotionally and physically, Levi wasn’t sure if he would ever be able to love or much less be touched by another man. He even resigned himself to being alone. Until he set eyes on Seth Okuda; now all bets were off. Delicate and beautiful, Seth made Levi’s Levis get tight! If only he could figure out why rooms in Seth’s house kept getting cold and why the lights flickered at times. Weird!
REVIEW:
In the fourth installment in this series, Mr. Ortiz is again taking us into the world of the unknown. We still have the Georgia Rednecks, but this time we have something that goes bump in the night, as well as other times of the day!
Levi Gaither is a cousin of the other Gaithers in the previous stories. Poor Levi has had a hard life. His mother is a tramp, and none of his brothers and sisters are actually his father’s children. It is obvious looking at them. Levi is his father’s child, but the most abused of all of them. His mother told him he looks like a chicken, and his father called him Dumbo regularly. When Levi’s father caught him kissing a boy in the barn, he beat him almost to death. Luckily he was rescued by his cousin before he bled to death from the whipping his father gave him with a leather belt. Levi is now living with his sister Lucy and working at the Gaither store as a furniture refinisher and expert. He is seriously damaged though, and doesn’t think anyone will ever want him. When he is sent off with a load of sinks for the Vicks Mansion, his life is about to change.
Seth Okuda has been damaged by his bitch of a mother for years. Never good enough for her, she has constantly told him he needs to give up the homosexual idea and find a nice woman. Only problem? Seth is gay. Seth is delicate and almost feminine. In fact his last boyfriend wanted him to wear super feminine clothing and grow his hair out. Turns out the guy was bisexual and saw Seth as more of a girl.
When Levi shows up to deliver the sinks, there is an instant attraction. But can they get by the fact that there is a ghost in the house?
I really like this book. I just wish it was better edited. I have to keep it real, even though I love the author and his works. There are tons of typos, incorrect words, and just down right mistakes in this one. I truly think this book had more than the other three in the series. For example, at one point it says they are having beef bourguignon for supper, then a couple pages later, when the Dutch oven goes flying, it is chicken fricassee?
Mistakes and editing issues aside, I did really enjoy the book, the characters and the overall storyline. I’m not sure that this one has been re-edited, but the story is good enough that I will still recommend it and tell you to read the whole series. Matt’s newer books are much better edited…just wish these older books could be.
