Wyatt’s first album launched him into country music stardom, a shocking success of gay-country. But now he has to record his second album, and all efforts are coming up blank. His manager finally runs out of patience and sends him inspiration: Bryce, who played keys on Wyatt’s tour, and the man that Wyatt is secretly in love with.
Bryce has been in love with Wyatt for a long time, but everyone knows he’s a notorious player, there and gone again as soon as he’s gotten what he wants. Then Wyatt unexpectedly admits his feelings, and Bryce thinks maybe he’s been wrong this whole. But when he wakes up the next morning, Wyatt is gone.
REVIEW:
Hmmm….well, there isn’t much that really worked for me here, to be honest. I don’t really mind miscommunication but NO communication at all? That I did not get, not at all.
Wyatt is suffering from a major case of writers block. Having recently gotten back from his successful country music tour he finds himself chasing that next big hit song. The big difference this time around is he’s in the throes of unrequited love for his best friend/keyboardist.
Having never been attracted to a man before Bryce is wholly unprepared for the rush of emotion Wyatt sparks in him. Love blossoms after spending basically every waking moment together while they were on tour.
Wyatt is very “woe is me” following the tour. He can’t write new music and he’s having a difficult time finding any inspiration, whatsoever.
Wyatt manager decides to throw Bryce and Wyatt together to see if they can get their creative juices flowing.
These men are awful communicators. There’s one big emotional reveal, kind of disappointing sex….then BAM, nothing. I don’t care how scared Wyatt was, leaving someone in the middle of the forest is borderline, unforgiveable. I don’t care how confused/scared you are. Have a conversation!!! Yeah…didn’t work for me.
Overall, not terrible writing but the plot was sketchy, characters weren’t all that endearing and the ending wasn’t satisfying. Not for me.
