And when Aaron disappears and word gets back to Quinn that he’s dying, he has to take a leap of faith to bring him home and back to Quinn’s bed where he belongs.
REVIEW:
As far as BDSM shifter books go, I rather enjoyed this one. There were some regular things we find in shifter stories…fated mates, crazy jealousy, irrational anger but this story was wrapped in a surprisingly unique package that I couldn’t help but devour.
The world as we know it is over. After an aggressive virus outbreak wiped out the majority of human life, shifters being immune to human diseases were left to pick up the pieces. The US, Mexico, and Canada have been divided into 9 territories with an Alpha shifter leading each territory. Some humans hate werewolf rule and have formed rebel armies to try and overtake the shifters.
Quinn is the Supreme Alpha over all 9 territories. He’s a hard but fair leader. He’s completely awestruck when he comes into contact with human prisoner, Aaron and learns he is Quinn’s fated mate. Even though Aaron doesn’t identify with being gay, he can’t fight nor deny his attraction to Quinn.
What transpires throughout the story is an intense battle of wills. Quinn’s aggressive; Dominate nature is the perfect match to Aaron’s submissiveness. Aaron has a hard time obeying Quinn but he’s enjoying the punishments he’s been receiving not to mention the phenomenal sex they’ve been having.
I really liked this story. I loved the added post apocalyptic feel and it added another element to the story on a whole. Aaron and Quinn had the best enemies to lover’s thing going on. The intense BDSM/submissive/slave thing was so well done.
Anyone that likes intense shifter/BDSM stories will dig this…recommend!!
