Unless Gavin was an amazing actor, Kyle didn’t detect any cruelty in him. His statements regarding being careful while negotiating a BDSM contract and it going beyond sex had him intrigued as well. Gavin had actually made it sound appealing. Gavin had also seemed genuinely concerned that Kyle might’ve been taken advantage of by his former ‘Master’. Kyle let out a snort before he could stop himself. Thankfully, Gavin hadn’t come back inside yet. The thought of prissy Roger in Dom leathers and wielding a whip threatened to launch him into a fit of hysterical giggling. That would really make Gavin reconsider hiring him.

But he had to straighten up the whole misunderstanding about him being a sub immediately. He couldn’t begin any sort of association with Gavin and his partners with them thinking he was something other than he was. His main concern was that they not perceive him as anything other than an honest man, but he also didn’t want any Doms sniffing around thinking he was looking for a Master the way Gavin obviously did. He involuntarily shivered.

He hadn’t been completely truthful with Marshall about one thing. Although he’d meant it when he’d said he’d only watched BDSM porn to get ideas for his creations, he would never admit that there were a few specific scenes he’d played over and over. He’d get off fast and hard every time he watched them. It was a relief to know that he could get his satisfaction by simply watching the acts. He was sure it prevented him from being compelled to ever try anything so insane in real life.

“Sorry I took so long.” Gavin closed the door behind him after he entered the condo. “I knew I was taking on a big job with this club, but it’s more than exceeded my projections.” Gavin chuckled. “That rarely happens with anything in my life. I always meticulously plan out everything.”

Yeah. I bet.

As soon as Gavin sat where he’d been before, Kyle indicated to the coffee. “I poured you a fresh cup. I was afraid it would be too cold by the time you came back.”

When Gavin didn’t respond right away, Kyle couldn’t help but glance up to see if maybe he’d somehow done something to upset him. Instead, he was met with Gavin’s intense stare. The look radiating from Gavin’s eyes terrified him. It was a clear, primal interest that made Kyle’s belly tighten. The heat under his skin filled his face as he quickly lowered his gaze. Kyle had the bad feeling that Gavin might want to sign up as his new Master. He needed to clarify things immediately.

“Uh, Gavin, before…” He cleared his throat perhaps a bit too loudly. “What I mean, is when we were talking about Roger, and you said… That whole Master thing, it’s…”

What if he decides I’m not qualified enough? He might think I only got lucky with those two pieces. After all, Marshall did guide me on what he wanted, helped with the specifications. Maybe…

“Kyle?”

He snapped his head up. “Um, do you think it would be all right if we just stuck to discussing the contract? Not get into personal stuff?”

Gavin’s reaction was obvious disappointment and Kyle was certain that the hunky Dom had been considering him as his next sub. He was relieved he’d prevented any potentially uncomfortable moments where he would’ve had to fend off Gavin’s advances. A thread of regret coursed through him that he’d effectively ruined his chances with the Dom, which was completely ridiculous. The last thing he wanted was to be tied up by Gavin so that he could do whatever he wanted to him.

He clasped his hands in his lap, sweat forming on his upper lip. The pressure from their business meeting had to be getting to him, he was all jumbled up. The ridiculously attractive Gavin staring at him like that—it was the only way he could account for his dick hardening. Since all he’d done was blush like a crazy person ever since Gavin had arrived, Kyle was sure his current reddened state wouldn’t alert Gavin that anything unusual was occurring.

At last, Gavin spoke. “Of course, Kyle. I wouldn’t want to do anything that made you uncomfortable. Are you still okay with continuing our meeting?”

“Yes, absolutely. I really want to work with you.” He inhaled sharply. “I mean, with the club.”
