BLURB:
Dante Moretti has a big problem. His acting career has hit the skids and he’s desperate to land the lead role in the next Hollywood blockbuster. It’s his last chance to get back on the superstar track.
But, his personal life is a train wreck. No sane director will work with him any longer. Solution? Bribe his best friend and former co-star, Chris Parker to play the role of his long-term boyfriend. Showing the world he’s in a committed relationship will hopefully convince casting agents he’s reformed, stable and trustworthy.
Even if it’s a lie.
What Dante doesn’t count on is the public’s reaction to the announcement that Chris and he are a couple…and his own feelings for Chris spiraling out of control.
Under the merciless cameras of the paparazzi, Dante is forced to choose–his leading man status or the man he thought was just his best friend. Who ever thought that pretending to be in love would be this hard?
REVIEW:
I’ll be honest and say a good 90% of the reason I picked this book was due to the title. I was completely intrigued and if that was what the authors were going for they succeeded! Overall, I enjoyed this story. My one complaint is that is started so incredibly slow and didn’t get good until about the halfway mark. But once it started heating up, WOW….these two were incredibly hot together.
Dante Moretti and Chris Parker have been best friends for awhile. Both men, being seasoned actors have quite a lot in common so their friendship is effortless. During a rough patch Chris moves in with Dante to save money and help with finances. Dante is also going through his own tough times. Due to several rocky relationships that have played out dramatically in the media, producers and directors are hesitant to hire Dante for fear of bad press. Trying to turn over a new leaf and prove he can maintain a steady, healthy relationship Dante convinces Chris to play his boyfriend.
As you can imagine this scenario had some dramatic consequences which put strain on the already stressed friendship between Dante and Chris.
Like I mentioned earlier, I really did like Chris and Dante together. I appreciated Chris’s openness and how he really embraced this having more than just friendship feelings for Dante.
I did really enjoy this one after the pace picked up. I don’t think I would have liked it as much as I did if it weren’t for how smokin’ hot Dante and Chris were together. Both of these authors are new to me and I would seek them out in the future and I would recommend this one!
