He wants Jared as his.
Jared Baker, the bass player for the band, has a past that is getting in the way of him fully embracing what he wants… Tony. He’s tried everything to create distance between them, but none of it eliminated the feelings he has developed for Tony.
Trying to suppress the anger and confusion from Jared withdrawing from his life, Tony does his best to get beyond the feelings he has for his friend. When Jared becomes deathly ill, it’s Tony that he calls for help and Tony has to decide if he can heal Jared without giving away too much of his heart.
Can best friends find their way to true love and discover if they were meant for each other, or will the challenges of life force them to choose separate paths?
REVIEW:
Being a big fan of this series, every new part that comes out is a treat. When finally book 5 came out and brought us Jared and Tony’s story it was everything you could want. It was sexy, hot with friendship and love.
There was also tension and miscommunication, the way things could have been so different if only both of the main characters would have just spoken their mind instead of making assumptions and perhaps even lacking courage.
Keyboard player Tony and bass player Jared both see themselves as straight. They are best friends and they are pretty used to sharing their women. During their last encounter, however, something changes and that opens up a world of different prospects.
It leaves both men to not knowing how to deal with their feelings and Jared ends up moving out of the condo they shared. Leaving both men devistated and unsure.
When Jared falls ill it seems to finally open Tony’s eyes and spur him into some action. When they finally reach the point that they cannot keep ignoring the big white elephant in the room, they finally find a way towards each other and the story takes a turn to a wonderful love story. It is so good to see the love blossom between then and author Ann Lister sure makes a really wonderful switch there in the plot line.
If you think it is an easy ride, you are wrong. Things being said (by Jared) taking wrongly (by Tony), family by blood (Tony’s brother, debts) and by choice (Dani, labor) all make sure that this part includes lots of action and drama.
Of course we cannot overlook the chemistry and the way author Ann Lister shows that her excellent reputation as erotic novalist more than well earned. The friendship and romantic connection between Jared and Tony is wonderful but the sexual tension is more than hot.
This book is a great addition to the series and I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t started this series yet you better make sure you do it fast because let me tell you this the author left us with a great teaser for the next book. Black Ice members Dante and Ashton will feature in that one and I for one cannot wait to see and as that story comes to life!
