BLURB:
Young lab scientist Olsen Westergard has worked long and hard to create order and stability in his life, and believes he’s finally content. But when he goes on a summer holiday trip with his friends, they try to rouse him from his customary caution, urging him to remedy his extended sexual dry spell. Their fumbled efforts to hook him up validate Olsen’s guess that he likely won’t meet the type of guy he’s looking for on this trip. Or rather, the type of guy he thinks he’s looking for.
But when a solo late night beach walk leads to a heated encounter with a drunken stranger, Olsen unexpectedly finds himself overwhelmed with turbulent desires—made worse when he later discovers the stranger’s surprising identity, and that ready or not, they’re about to get to know each other a whole lot better.
REVIEW:
This was a very different beginning to a relationship, I have to say. I really enjoyed this story, quite a bit actually. This was an unconventional romance with an element of Treasure Hunters and American Pickers along with an air of mystery. I really enjoyed how unique it all was and how it came together.
Olsen Westergard is completely happy in his professional life, but not so much in his personal. Trying to overcome the depression he feels closing in on him he’s on an extended vacation with coworkers and friends. Late at night, wanting some quiet he decides to take a walk on the deserted beach. He is absolutely not prepared to stumble upon Beck Turner.
TORTURED….that is the one word that comes to mind when I think of Beck. He’s an absolute tortured soul. Choosing to not deal with certain circumstances in his life he puts on masks which allow him to function normally. Drunk, alone and sleeping on the beach he encounters Olsen and chooses to break up the monotony with some fun and games.
Beck and Olsen embark on a truly different sort of relationship. Early on the connection between these two men is undeniable. The chemistry is through the friggin roof and the sex is unbelievable….WOW!!
I loved the plot of this story. I was so intrigued by the treasure/artifact elements. This was a page turner, I needed to understand Beck. I needed to know what the frick was going on. I wanted Olsen to play a little harder to get but I was really pleased when he did give in. This author can tell a story!
This is for sure a recommended read. It just was so incredibly different with awesome characters. Get it!!
