AUTHOR: Avril Ashton
PUBLISHER: Sinners Haven Publishing
LENGTH: 287 pages
BLURB:
Is love enough to pull two drowning men back from the edge of darkness?
No one will love you. Tek Ng has heard that statement his entire life, and after all he’s been through, he believes it. The tortured reality of who he is wars with everything else in his world. He’s got a fiancée he doesn’t want, a family legacy he wants to escape, and unrequited love so unavoidable he descends into sexual depravity with the last person he should. Tek is drowning, but he’s not sure he wants to be saved.
Quinn Storm hides in his quiet house, afraid of his shadow and his memories. At one time he had a husband and a life, but that was snatched away in a violent attack. Hardly daring to live, Quinn is alive only because he’s too scared to end it all himself. He’s drowning and wants no chance at being saved.
A favor for a friend brings these two men together just in time for Tek to watch Quinn unravel. Quinn quickly becomes the most important thing in Tek’s life, but can he trust Quinn to love him once he realizes what Tek is hiding? Just as they reach for each other, their reprieve is shattered by Tek’s demons, leaving Quinn with the realization that he’s not the only one in need of saving.
REVIEW:
DAMN!!! This was absolutely, filthy, nasty good!! The kink was delicious in this 4th installment of Run This Town; the sex in this book was finger licking good. I love how Avril Ashton makes these men so incredibly passionate, loyal and caring. These are bad men, for the most part. They do bad things, day in and day out but they do not hesitate to take care of their own. Their bad deeds are big but their hearts and their capacity to love is so much bigger. I loved the dark and light complexities of all these characters. Avril Ashton is a friggin genius when it comes to writing characters just like this. I was chatting with my friend/fellow reviewer Donna and she summed up Avril Ashton the author perfectly, “she just grabs you by the hair and shoves your face right into that shit!” And that is exactly what she does and you as a reader love ever stankin’ minute of it!!
Tek Ng knows all about unrequited love. Having been in love with an unavailable man for more years than he can count has left him numb. He escapes by dressing in drag and at the tip of a needle. His brothers are done watching his self destruct so they send him away to stay with another man who is slowly drowning in his own pain and suffering.
Quinn Storm lost his husband, sense of safety, and sanity all in one horrific assault. He’s alone, preferring it that way. Can’t stand to touch or be touched. Wants only to be left alone but when a favor is asked by someone he cares about he agrees. When the favor arrives on his doorstep he’s not prepared for Tek.
Tek sees Quinn though. Like really sees him and it knocks Quinn for a loop. He’s not ready for the feeling Tek inspires in him. He’s not ready to be touched, to be loved, to be forgiven. Tek gives him something he isn’t ready for and it’s a battle at the beginning.
Like I mentioned at the beginning these men are so friggin hot together. It’s kinky, dirty, nasty, and raw. The panties killed me I loved it so hard.
True to form there is violence, pain, suffering, and mystery scattered throughout this book. We get some answers to questions that arose in past book but we also got more questions. This was a great addition to this series. Looking forward to the spinoffs and book 5….bravo, Mrs. Ashton….job well done!!!
