REVIEW:
So, here’s the deal, I read the blurb and thought…”Self, this might be interesting…Vamps and space travel…even a chick sidekick…sounds good to me.” I was actually looking forward to their story.
Rand is like any young man who has lived a fast and hard life. I am intrigued as how he seems so naïve in some aspects and yet, he’s smarter than the average coconut the rest of the time. Rand is this interesting character that is truly just trying to survive in the life that he lives. Rand is very dedicated to providing not only for himself, but for the people that work for him. I like that he’s taken to becoming a vampire, like it wasn’t a huge thing. Rand just did what needed to be done in order to survive.
Drak is the centuries old vampire that decides to work with Rand. Drak is a powerful enough vampire and yet, he doesn’t flaunt that about. Drak is different than Rand in the way that he sleeps with men or women. He states that it’s the pleasure and the blood that really matters, not the sex. I like that he’s so very pragmatic in his approach to just about everything that he does.
Ferda is a woman who has lived a very long life and in that life…she’s had some adventures. I like that she has this really deep-seeded trait of honor and integrity. She gives her word and sticks by it. I like that she’s really dedicated to doing the right thing. I like that Ferda has lived her life and has lived it well. That she’s had her affairs of heart and kept on living her life as a pilot and flew the heavens.
Now, the storyline…it was different. There were so many people being thrown in and out of the story. It wasn’t really cohesive. It was days flying and landing. Finding cargo and being pursued by pirates or bounty hunters. A bit of fighting, killing and running away from danger, it was on going. There was the storyline of bounty hunters looking for Rand and yet, we were never told or found out why this guy kept sending them after Rand. Why was this woman kept in a cryostasis and what the hell was the importance of that?
There was bunches of sex in this story. Some of it was m/m, however, the majority of the sex was m/f. Now, I’m not a hater and this book did have some m/m sex, again…most of the on screen sex was m/f and I have to say…I’m not that big on lady parts when reading m/m books. I know that she’d be a part of this story…I just didn’t gather just how much of a part of the story she would be and that I’d have to endure her sex life…it was a bit much in my opinion.
Overall, the book was kind of ok. There was a bit of a storyline…mostly sex and mostly m/f sex. I think that my expectation of the story was different to the actual story itself.

Thank you – this review tells me all I want to know. M/F sex is not for me.
