Logan Church is a shock and an enigma, and Jin fears that Logan is both the mate he fears and the love of his life. It will take time and trust for Jin to discover the joy in belonging to Logan and how to love without restraint.
REVIEW:
Mary Calmes is an absolute genius when it comes to writing true Alpha males. Without question her Alpha characters are by far my very favorite. This series is by far my very favorite cat shifter story. She takes the idea of “true mates” which isn’t a new concept and puts this unique spin on it that gives this story that push that takes it to excellence.
Jin Rayne and his best friend Crane Adams have been running from panther tribes for as long as both of them can remember. You see, Jin is a very rare panther shifter. He’s a Reah cat which is super rare almost unheard of in male cats. Reah just basically means these particular cats are made to be true mates of Alpha cats. Another anomaly is being that Jin is a Reah, that means he’s also gay due to the fact that all Alpha cats are male. When he revealed the fact that he was a Reah and gay to his family he was beat and cast out of his tribe. His best friend, Crane didn’t believe in their tribes views so he decided to leave with Jin. They’ve moved from city to city trying to stay out of Panther shifter subculture, always staying off radar. In their current city, however, they are confronted by 3 different Alpha cats that all want to claim Jin as their mate but only 1 of them is his true mate.
Logan Church is the leader and Alpha cat of his panther tribe. He’s always believed in finding his true mate but he never realized that that could be a male. Identifying as a heterosexual it’s surprising that he doesn’t even bat an eye when he realizes his true mate is in fact a male. He whole heartedly embraces Jin as his mate and tries to convince Jin that his feelings are, in fact, real.
Logan’s steadfast belief in Jin and their relationship was so incredibly beautiful. I absolutely loved their interactions and the way these two are together. I loved the whole “I won’t be able to breathe if I don’t touch you thing” these two men had going on.
The writing is exceptional and I was invested in these men to the bitter end.
This story and series is now and will forever be one of my most favorites every single thing about it touched me. So much in fact that at times Jon and Logan became real, like friends or family.
Everyone should read this book and start this series. No doubt about it.
